89th place individual federation finish.
Kylie Bowman competed at the federation championship. She is the only 3 time qualifier for Newfane in school history. She had a great race finishing 89th out of 300 runners.
26th place individual state finish.
Kylie Bowman competed this past weekend at the state championship in VVS. She finished 26th place overall and was a member of the state championship intersectional championship team. For this she helped her sections (section 6) beat the other sections in the state.
She qualified for the federation meet and will be competing this weekend 11/18 to represent her school in the pinnacle of all hs cross-country running in New York State.
Girls win Class C-2, 2nd in C
The girls team was the winner of the Class C-2 sectional championship. The team was lead by state qualifier Kyile Bowman, and Bella Pasqualle who finished 10th and 12th in the race. Jorydan Center was 17th followed by Hanna Shulz who was 22nd. The girls team had an amazing day and finished 3rd overall in the all class merge making them 3rd in all of WNY regardless of Class size.
Kylie Bowman will be representing Newfane at the NY state championship this coming weeknd.
Boys in 2nd in Class C-2, 4th in C
The boys team was led by Liam Betteridge who finished 21st overall. He was followed by Sean Milczarski and Aidan Gillings who finished 31st and 32 out of 130 runners. This helped the boys team to a 2nd place finish in the class C-2 sectional championship.
Boys win All-League
The boys finished the season with an 11-1 record winning sole possession of 1st place. This is their 6 league championship in 7 years. Liam Betteridge lead the way capturing a 3rd place finish and all league honors. He was followed by Sean Milczarski who was 6th. Zachary Szratter, Aidan Gillings, and Andrew Kimble finished 10, 11, and 13th respectively to earn 2nd team all league honors. This was a great team effort.
Girls win All-League
The girls team finished undefeated winning the league for the 9th year in a row. They also scored 16 points, 1 point away from a perfect score in XC. Kylie Bowman was the league champion for the 4th year. Bella Pasquale was 2nd place overall, followed by Jenna Achtyl, Jordyn Centner and Kayla Hallman who finished 3, 4 & 6 taking girls honors. Hannah Shulz finished 12th earning 2nd team all league. Olive Chunco had a great race and earned honorable mention with a 19th place finish.
Girls vrs Wilson (16-46 win) vrs Medina (19-41)
The girls team improved to 6-0. Kylie Bowman was the race winner, followed by a strong performance from Bella Pasquale who finished 3rd and , Jordyn Centner and Hannah Schulz who finished 5, 6th in the race.
Boys vrs Wilson (25-32 win) vrs Medina (19-40)
Liam Betteridge was the top runner for Newfane finishing 3rd overall. He was followed by Andrew Kimball 3rd, Aidan Gillings 4th. The boys are now 5-1 and tied for 1st in the league with Barker and Akron.
Girls vrs RH (15-47win)
The girls team improved to 4-0. Kylie Bowman was the race winner, followed by a strong performance from Hannah Schulz. Bella Pasquale, Jordyn Centner Kayla Hallman, and Jenna Achtyl all finished ahead of the 1st Roy-Hart runner.
Boys vrs RH (20-38 Loss)
Liam Betteridge got his 3rd straight win followed Zach Szratter and Aidan Gillings who finished 3 & 4th overall in the race. The boys team is now 3-1 in the league getting ready to go against Wilson and Medina.
Mcquaid Girls 4th place Small A-1
The girls team finished 4th place overall out of over 50 teams in their race. Kylie Bowman was the lead runner finishing 12th out of 297 runners. Jorydan Centner and Bella Pasquale finished 60th and 61st. Hannah Shultz rounded out the scorers finishing 82nd place.
Mcquaid Boys 20th place Small A-1
The boys team finished 20th out of 60 teams and beat area teams like Akron, Wilson, Roy-Hart, Medina, and Albion. Liam Betteridge finished 37th place i a race out of 290+ runners. He was followed By Aidan Gillings who earned all meet top 100 honors. Andrew Kimble, Zack Szratter, and Jaxson Dembrowski rounded out the scorers.
Girls vrs Barker (20-41 win)
The girls team got strong wins and improved to 3-0. Bella Pasquale got a race win with a time of 21:49. She was followed by Jordyn Center 3rd, Hannah Schulz 4th, and Kayla Hallman who was 5th in the race.
Boys vrs Barker (29-26 Loss)
The boys had a tough meet against defending league champion Barker. Liam Betteridge got his 2nd straight win followed Aidan Gillings who also had a season best time of 18:38. Sean Milczarski was 7th overall for the Panthers.
Girls vrs Akron (17-44 win) vrs Albion (17-44 win)
The girls team got strong wins and improved to 2-0. Additionally they captured their 100th consecutive league win, with the last loss coming in 2014. Kylie Bowman was the race winner followed by
Jordyn Center and Bella Pasquale. Kayla Hallman was the lead middle school runner finishing 5th overall out of 25 runners. She was followed by Sienna Gibson who was 8th.
Boys vrs Akron (21-34 win) vrs Albion (15-46 win)
The boys program got 2 wins starting off with great momentum. Liam Betteridge got a race win followed by Sean Milczarski who was 3rd and Aidan Gillings who finished 4th overall. They were followed by Andrew Kimball and Zachary Szratter.
Girls team 7th VVS Pre-state meet
The boys and girls cross country team competed this weekend at the pre state meet. The Girls team competed team was in a very competitive race and finished as one of the top Class C school in the race. Kylie Bowman was the top female finisher with a top 6 finish out of 150 girls. Jordan Centner followed close behind followed by Bella Pasqualle.
Boys team 9th VVS Pre-state meet
The boys finished as the top team in Niagara Orleans league ahead of Barker. Liam Betteridge was the top runner followed by Aidian Gillins and Zach Szratter.
Girls team 1st Bemus point
The girls team won the small school pre-sectional meet. Kylie Bowman finished 2nd overall in the race. Jenna Achtyl was 13th overall followed by Bella Pasquale 16th, Jordyn Center 23rd, and Hanna Schulz 28th place overall.
Boys team 8th Bemus point.
Liam Betteridge was 26th place with a time of 18:38. He was followed by Aiden Gillings who broke 19:00. Sean Milczarski finished 40th, Zachary Szratter 42nd and Andrew Kimball who was 64th.
2022
38th place individual federation finish.
Kylie Bowman competed at her 2nd federations meet and set a new standard for Newfane XC. The federation meet contains the top runners from the state across all school sizes, public and private. She had an amazing race finishing 38th out of over 275 runners. The highest placement in school history and earning her all federation honors. This is the 1st time school history that a newfane XC runner has accomplished this task.

Kylie Bowman competed at her 3rd state meet at VVS. She finished 11th place overall earning all state honors. Additionally she was a member of the state championship winning Intersectional championship team running as the 4th team member out of 10. Kylie earned herself a trip to the federation championship at Bowdon Park NY.
Boys finish 2nd C-2 , 6th C
The Boys team had a strong team finish with a 2nd place finish in the C-2 division aquaring 2nd team all section honors. The Pack was lead by Aidan Gillings. He was followed by Tyler Braddell and Zachary Szratter. All three had their season best time. Liam Betteridge had a strong bounce back after illness helping the team to the great finish. Daenon Kopp rounded out the top 5 scorers finishing off his senior season as our team leader.
Girls finish 2nd C-2 , 3rd C
The girls team had a strong finish in a very tough division. Kylie Bowman ran lights out finishing 2nd overall in the section earning a trip to the state meet next weekend in VVS. Cat Ersing had a top 12 finish followed by Jordyn Centner, Bella Pasqualle, and Hannah Shultz who rounded out the team scorers. The girls team outstanding effort helped the girls team to a 2nd place finishing in the section C-2 division earning all 2nd team all section team honors. Another amazing season!
Girls win All-league
The girls team Captured their 8th straight league championship at lake side beach state park. Kylie Bowman was the race winner for the 3rd year in a row and earned 1st team all league honors along with Cat Ersing who finished 2nd and Jordyn Centner who finished 4th overall. Bella Pasqualle had a truly gutsy race and earned herself 2nd team all league honors with an 8th place finish. Hannah Schulz also earned 2nd team with a 12th place finish. Sara Siegmann earned league honorable mention coming back off of a recent injury with a 15th place finish. Bryona Wilson was our 7th runner just missing honorable mention by 1 spot in the league. This brings the girls league unbeaten streak up to 98 wins in a row dating back to 2015.
Boys finish 6th
The boys cross-county team ran into a streak of illness on the day of all league having 2 of their top 5 not participate due to illness. Another member of the team had to participate while not feeling well. Other member of the team stepped it up to help the team pull through. Zack Szratter was the top finisher for Newfane and earned himself Honorable mention in the league along with fellow runner Daenon Kopp. They were followed by Andrew Kimball, Aidan Gillings, and Ben McKenzie who rounded out the scorers. The boys team finished the season tied for 4th in the league overall.
Boys vrs Medina (21-37 win) vrs Wilson (29-26 loss)
The boys and girls team competed in their last duel meet of the season. The boys team had a tough battle with Wilson and Medina. Newfane boys beat Medina 21-37 but lost a close meet to Wilson 29-26. The boys are now 4-2 on the season as they get ready for the all - league meet. Liam Betteridge was the top guy finishing 3rd overall followed by Aidan Gillings who was 4th overall. Tyler Braddell, Daenon Kopp, and Andrew Kimball rounded out the scorers.
Girls vrs Medina (15-46 win) vrs Wilson (19-40 win)
The girls team extended their league unbeaten streak to 6-0 on the season and are currently on a 92 win league streak dating back to 2015. Kylie Bowman was the top girl with a time of 19:35. Bella Pasqualle was 2nd, followed by Jordan Centner who was 3rd overall in the race. Hanna Shulz and Cat Ersing Rounded out the scorers.
Boys vrs Akron (26-33 win)
Liam Betteridge and Aidan Gillings helped with their 2-3 finish in the meet. Ben McKenzie had a break out race finishing 6th place overall in the race and 3rd for Newfane. Tyler Braddell, Daenon Kopp and Zack Szratter rounded out the scores.
Girls vrs Akron (25-32 win)
The girls Cross-Country team improved to 4-0, led By Kylie Bowman, and now is the last undefeated team in the league. Bella Pasquale, Jordyn Centner, and Hanna Schulz finished 3-4-5 in the race. Sienna Gibson, Avery Stevenson, and Bryona Wilson rounded out the scorers for the day.
McQuaid Girls 10th place Small A-1
The Girls team finished 10th place and showed their team depth. Kylie Bowman led the way finishing 8th place overall. This allowed her to finish 32nd overall in the all school merge of over 1400 girls. Bella Pasquale was the 2nd runner for Newfane followed by Sara Siegmann and Jordan Centner.
McQuaid Boys 24th in Small A-1
The boys team had a strong team showing led by Liam Betteridge and Aidan Gillings. They were followed by Tyler Braddell, and Daenon Kopp. Zachary Szratter rounded our the varsity scorers for the day. Newfane beat many local teams including Akron, Medina, and Roy-Hart.
Girls vrs Barker (19-40 win)
Kylie Bowman got another victory today with a time of 19:40. She was followed by Cat Ersing who finished 2nd place overall. Jordan Centner and Bella Pasquale ran a great strategical race and finished 4th and 5th. Sara Siegmann was 7th followed by Hannah Schulz who was 9th. Avery Steven son rounded out the scorers with a 10th place finish.
Boys vrs Barker (46-15 loss)
Liam Betteridge was the top runner with a season best time vrs Barker, he finished 6th place overall and was followed closely by Aidan Gillings. Andrew Kimball was 13th overall and 3rd runner for Newfane. Daenon Kopp was 14th and Tyler Braddell was 5th man and 16th place. Ben McKenzie and Jaxon Dembrowski rounded out the scorers.
Girls vrs Albion (15-49 win) Vrs RH (15-49 Win)
Kylie Bowman got another race win and while breaking the course record at Albion HS in a tri meet with RH. It was a clean sweep with Cat Ersing, Sara Siegmann, Bella Pasquale, Hannah Schulz, and Jordyn Centner all finishing one after another. These wins improves the girls team to 2-0 for the season and extended their league winning streak to 88 wins dating back to 2015
Boys vrs Albion (15-50 win) Vrs RH (23-36 Win)
Aidan Gillings had an amazing finish just getting out leaned for the victor. He was followed by Liam Betteridge who was 3rd, Daenon Kopp who was 4th. Zach Szratter was 4th man finishing 6th overall and Tyler Braddell who was 8th overall in the race out of 30 runners. The boys team is now 2-0 and extended their league winning streak to 62 wins in a row dating back to 2017.
VVS Pre state meet
Girls finish 4th
Kylie Bowman start the season out of the gate with a bang. She was the race winner of the pre-state meet with a time of 20:00 minutes. She was followed by Cat Ersing who was 17th earning top 20 accolades. Sara Siegmann was 23rd, and Bella Pasquale and Hannah Schulz rounded out the scorers. The race was a mixed race with all size schools, A, B, C, and D. Newfane finished 4th place out of over 18 schools.

The boys team was led by the pack of Liam Betteridge, Aiden Gillings, and Tyler Braddell finished within a second of each other. Daemon Kopp, and Zach Szratter rounded out the scorers for the boys squad.
2021
Bowman 53rd at Federation meet
Kylie Bowman traveled across the state to the federation cross country meet in Bowdoin park NY. This meet consists of all the best runners form Class A, B, C, and D along with Private and independent schools. She is only the 4th girl and 8th runner from Newfane to qualify for this meet. Kylie had a stand out race finishing 53rd out of over 283 runners in the race. This is the highest finish at the federation meet by a Newfane runner. Her time of 19:50 was only 15 seconds off of qualifying for all federation honors. Great season to her and the other Newfane XC boys and girl runners.
Girls finish 3rd place in state meet Class C
The varsity Girls Cross-Country team returned from the State meet championship at Chenengo Valley with a 3rd place finish in Class C championship. This is their 5th top 4 finish in the last 5 years. Kylie Bowmann earned all state honors with her 11th place state finish. This qualifies her for the federation championship on 11/20 in Bowdoin Park NY. Leah Siegmann finished 23rd in the state while Cat Ersing finished 26th in the state. Maggie Quattrini was 49th in the state, Shelby Nerber 73rd, Bella Pasquale 79th and Sara Siegmann 86th. The girls team ended up 14th place overall as a team in the all class merger combining class A, B, C, and D. Another amazing season for the Lady panthers.
Boys 2nd place Class C-1 and 3rd place class C
The Boys team had a great team effort finishing 2nd overall in the Class C 1 division earning all class honors and sectional shields. Andrew Cuzzacrea led the way for the boys finishing 10th place followed by Conner who was 11th. Austin Burkard was 21st and followed by Nick Arcovio, Gannon Gibson, Alden Gibson, and then Deanon Kopp. This was a great way to end the season.
The girls team wins sectionals
The girls team dominated the meet finishing 1st out of the 30 class C teams, winning by 50 points over 2nd place Eden. This is the 6th sectional championship in a row for the girls team. Kylie Bowman had a stand out performance finishing 3rd place overall in the section running 3.1 miles in 19:09. Cat ersing was 6th, Leah Siegmann was 7th, Maggie Quattrini 10th, Shelby Nerber 13th, Bella Pasquale 14th and Sara Siegmann 23rd. They will be representing Newfane at the State championship on November 13th in Chenango Valley, the site of their 2016 state championship win.
Boys win All-League
The boys finished the season undefeated 12-0 this year capturing their 5the league championship in a row. This has not been done since 1965. Andrew Cuzzacrea finished 2nd place overall, followed by Austin Burkard who finished 5th and Connor Cuzzacrea who finished 7th after taking a fall. All three earned 1st team all-league honors. Nick Arcovio earned 2nd team all league honors while Gannon Gibson, Alden Gibson and Daenon Kopp earned honorable mention.

The girls team finished undefeated winning the league for the 7th year in a row. This has never been done in league history. Kylie Bowman was the league champion for the 2nd year. Leah Siegmann was 3rd, Cat Ersing 4th, Maggie Quattrini 5th and Shelby Nerber finished 7th. All of those runners earned 1st team all-league honors. Bella Pasquale, Sara Siegmann, Lucky Ingro and Hayden Kopp earned 2nd team all-league. Niamh Thompson and Avery Stevenson earned all-league honorable mention.

Kylie Bowman got her 3rd win of the season and remains undefeated so far this year in league meets. She finished the race with the 2nd fasts time run by a 10th grade girl on our course. Leah Siegmann was the 2nd runner in the race followed by Maggie Quattrini who was 3rd. Sara Siegman and Shelby Nerber rounded out the scores.

The Girls team finished 2nd in one of the closes races of the day. Kylie Bowman lead the way finishing 6th place overall. Leah Siegmann was 14th place and was Maggie Quattrini who was 27th place. She was followed by Cat Ersing and Shelby Nerber was 5th girl and rounded out the scorers.

The girls JV team dominated the race. Isabella Pasquale was the race winner. Lucy Ingro was 5th place, and Niamh Thompson who finished 7th place.

Andrew Cuzzacrea was the top runner for Newfane with a 24th place finish. He was followed by Connor Cuzzacrea who finished 27th place. Nick Arcovio was the 3rd runner for newfane finishing 104. There was over 300 athletes in the race
McQuaid Boys JV 10th place
Ethan Niver was the top runner coming back off an injury. Ethan was 16th place overall with a time of 20:01. He was followed by Tyler Braddell who ran a time of 21:57.
Boys vrs RH (22-35 win)
The boys team battled out a win vrs RH. Conner Cuzzacrea got the win while setting the new course record of 18:16. Andrew Cuzzacrea finished 3rd place. Alden Gibson was 3rd man for newfane finish 5th place overall. Nick Arcovio and Daenon Kopp rounded out the scorers.
Girls vrs RH (15-50 win)
Kylie Bowman set the course record with a big win and time of 20:16. Maggie Quattrini finished 2nd place overall in the race. Leah Siegmann was 3rd, Sara Siegmann 4th and Hayden Kopp was 5th place overall.
Boys vrs Barker (26-29 win)
The boys pulled out a close win vrs Barker. Alden Gibson had a standout race holding off barker runners to at the 7th spot to seal the win for the panthers. Conner Cuzzacrea was the race winner, and was followed by brother Andrew. Austin Burkard was 6th place while Hayden Kopp finished 10th place to round out the scorers.

Girls finish 2nd.
The girls team finished 2nd place overall, and 10th place in the all meet merger making them the top C sized school for the day. Kylie Bowman was the top runner for the girls team finishing 3rd place overall with a blazing time of under 20 minutes. She was followed by Leah Siegmann, Cat Ersing, Maggie Quattrini, and Sara Siegmann who all earned top 30 finish awards.
Boys finished 14 The boys were led by Connor Cuzzacrea and Andrew Cuzzacrea . Connor ran under 19 minutes, while andrew was 7 seconds behind. They were followed by Austin Burkard, Gannon Gibson, and Nick Arcovio.

The girls team finished 1st place overall, and the boys team finished 5th. Kylie Bowman was the top runner for the girls team finishing 4th place overall out of 137. She was followed by Leah Sigemann, Cat Ersing, Maggie Quattrini, and Sara Siegmann. They all finished in the top 20 of the race.

Girls win the Section 6 Class C1 race
The girls team got a win becoming the class C1 sectional champions. This is the 5th year in a row they have won the section meet. Kylie Bowman was the individual winner of the race with a time of 19:46. She was followed by Leah Siegmann who finished 3rd place overall. Cat Ersing was 6th place in the race.
Boys finish 3rd place in the C1 Race
The boys team took 3rd place overall in the section C1 race. Nick Baes took 5th place and earned all-section honors. He was followed by Gannon Gibson who finished 11th and Austin Burkard who finished 12th in the section.

Kylie Bowman was the race winner finishing 1st for her 3rd straight meet. She was followed by Taylor Henschke who finished 3rd overall. Leah Siegmann ran 21:05 for 4th, while Cat Ersing was 5th. Marina Ersing finished 6th place overall.

Nick Baes was the top boy finishing 2nd overall followed by Jayden Reynolds who was one second behind him. Connor Cuzzacrea finish 4th overall in the race.
Girls vrs RH (15-50 win)
The girls cross county team scored a perfect score against RH. Kylie Bowman got an individual race win with a time of 20:00.8. Taylor Heschke finished 2nd and once again improved her time to 20:21. Leah Siegmann finished 3rd place overall, followed by Marina Ersing and Sara Siegamann.

Jayden Reynolds got a race win. He was followed by Austin Burkard who was 3rd Andrew Cuzzacrea & Connor Cuzzacrea finish next.
Girls vrs Barker (15-49 win)
The girls cross county team also got a win and improved their league record to 1-0 with a score of 15-49. Kylie Bowman got an individual race win with a time of 19:57. This is the 2nd fastest time by a 9th grade Newfane runners all time. It was also good enough to tie for the 11th fastest time on our course. Taylor Heschke finished 2nd. She tied for the 24th fastest time by a Newfane runner on our course. Leah Siegmann finished 3rd place overall.

Girls 3rd at States Class C race
An amazing team effort helped the girls team to a 3rd place finish in the state. Kylie Bowman was the lead runner in the icy conditions finishing 29th place in the state. She was followed by Cat Ersing who finished 37th place. Vanessa Burkard and Lydia Chunco came in 40th and 45th place in the state. All of the top 4 girls ran under 19 minutes. Leah Siegmann finished 53 place.
Shelby Nerber was 68th and Marina Ersing was 70th. The girls team had only a 1 minutes split from our 1st to 7th girls putting our 5th, 6th, 7th team in front of most teams 5th.
Girls win the Section 6 Class C race
The Girls team won the section Class C title for the 4th straight year. Lydia Chunco was the lead girl finishing 8th overall. She was Followed by Kylie Bowman who finished 9th place and Vanessa Burkard who finished 10th place. Cat easing finished 11th place. They where followed by Shelby Nerber who was 14th in the section, Marina Ersing who was 15th and Leah Siegmann who finished 16 in the section. The girls score was 42 points. The next closest team score was 83 points behind.
Boys finish 2nd place in the C1 division 4th place overall
The Boys Cross - County Put up a valiant effort in their 4th place finish, and 2nd place C1 finish. Nathan Moran finished 8th place overall. He was followed by Nick Baes and Connor Cuzzacrea who finished 19th and 20th in the race. Andrew was 23rd while Gannon was 27th place
Boys win All-League
The Boys finish the regular season as undefeated league champions. This is their 3rd year in a row winning. Nathan Moran captured a league individual win and was followed by Nick Baes who finished 2nd place overall. Alan lingle finished 5th place overall. This was his 4th year in a row earring 1st team all-league honors. Connor and Andrew Cuzzacrea finished 6 and 7th earning 1st team all-league honors as well. Austin Burkard, Jayden Reynolds and Gannon Gibson earned 2nd team all league honors. The boys team score was 21 points which is the 2nd best score in modern league history for the all-league meet.
Girls win All-League
The Girls finish the regular season undefeated 12-0 in the league capturing their 5th straight league championship extending their league win streak to 62-0 over the last 5 years. Kylie Bowman finished 2nd place overall earning one of the top 25 fastest times ever run on our course. She was followed by Cat Ersing who was 3rd place and Vanessa Burkard who finished 6th place. Lydia Chunco rounded out the 1st team all league members. Shelby Nerber, Leah Siegmann and Lucy Ingro earned 2nd team all league honors. Marina Ersing, Sara Siegmann, and Addie Naylor earned all -league honorable mention.

Kylie Bowman was the lead runner for the girls finishing 2nd place overall, followed by Teammate Lydia Chunco who finished 3rd, Vanessa Burkard 4th, and Cat Ersing 5th place overall to help get the win over Akron and Wilson.
Boys vrs RH (20-43 win)
The Boys Cross- Country team was led by Nick Baes who finished 2nd overall in the race with a time of 17:31. This was the 3rd fastest time ever run by a 11th grader from Newfane. He was followed by Gannon Gibson who was 3rd and ran 3rd fastest time by a 10th grade runner from newfane. Austin Burkard was 4th and Nathan Moran was 5th in the race.

Lydia Chunco got a win on senior night. She ran a time of 19:29 which was good enough for the 3rd fastest time run by a senior. She was followed by Kylie Bowman with a time of 19:44. This was the fastest time ever run by an 8th grade runner from Newfane. Vanessa Burkard was 4th overall and 3rd girl followed by Cat Ersing, Marina Ersing, and Leah Siegamnn.

Nathan Moran got a race win. He was followed by Nick Baes who was 3rd, Austin Burkard 4th, Gannon Gibson 5th, and Andrew Cuzzacrea 6th place overall.
Girls vrs Barker (15-50 win)
The girls cross county team also got a win and improved their league record to 3-0 with a perfect score win of 15-50. Kylie Bowman got another individual race win with a time of 20:42 Lydia Chunco finished 2nd, Cat Ersing 3rd, Vanessa Burkard, 4th, Shelby Nerber 5th place overall in the race.
Mcquaid Girls 1st place seeded race
The Girls team got their first ever seeded race win. Kylie Bowman lead the way finishing 7th place overall earning all meet honors and an individual plaque. Lydia Chunco had a strong race finishing 20th place overall. Vanessa Burkard finished 22 and Cat Ersing finished 24th place. Shelby Nerber rounded out the scorers with a 33 place finish.
McQuaid Boys 3rd place seeded race
The boys team was lead by Nathan Moran who finished 24th with a time of 16:46. He was followed by Nick Baes who ran 17:09 and took 37th place. Andrew Cuzzacrea finished 41st, Connor Cuzzacrea 48th and Alan Lingle 49th place.
McQuaid Boys JV 3rd place
They where lead by Gannon gibson who got a 3rd place finish overall in the race and a time of 18:01. Matthew Pussateri was 6th with a time of 18:22.

Nathan Moran was the race winner running a time of 17:37. This was good enough for the 5th fastest time ever run by a Newfane Senior. He was followed by Nick Baes who took 3rd place overall running 18:00. Then came Austin Burkard, then Andrew Cuzzacrea. Conner Cuzzacrea rounded out the top 5 for boys with a 6th place finish.

Kylie Bowman got her first race win running a time of 20:03. This is the fastest time ever run by an 8th grade girl on our course. She was followed by Lydia Chucno who ran a personal best time of 20:21 for 2nd place. Cat Ersing was third in the race while Vanessa Burkard finished 4th overall.
Section 7 Pre-State Girls 4th
The lead runner was Kylie Bowman who ran 20:10 and finished 12th place overall. She helped the girls to a 4th place overall finish and the 2nd place size C school in the race. South Lewis was the top C school and is currently ranked 2nd in the state. Newfane finished only 2 points behind them. Lydia Chunco was the lead high school girl finishing 17th place. She was followed by Vanessa Burkard who was 24th place. Both earned top 25 ribbons. They where followed by Cat and Marina Ersing, Then Shelby Nerber, and Leah Siegmann. Lucy Ingo was 51st out of 200 runners.
Section 7 Pre-State Boys 7th
The Boys team finished 7th and was the top size C school in their race. Alan Lingle was the leader for the boys running 17:45. He was followed by Andrew Cuzzacrea who ran 18:00, Nick Baes at 18:05, Jayden Reynolds at 18:14, then Connor Cuzzacrea 18:22. Gannon Gibson had a strong race finishing with a time of 18:44, while Matthew Pussateri got a time of 19:03.

Girls Varsity - 1st
The Girls team started off the 2019 season with a dominating win at the Pre - Sectional invitation. Kylie Bowman was the lead runner for the girls team finishing 6th place overall in the race with a time of 20:08. She was followed by Lydia Chucno who finished 9th place overall. Cat Ersing was 12th and Vanessa Burkard finished 16th. Leah Siegmann had a very strong race rounding out the scorers with a 26th place finish. There was over 200 runners in the race.
Boys Varsity - 2nd
The Boys team finished 2nd out of 35 teams finishing just one point behind Maplegrove. Nathan Moran was the lead runner for the boys finishing 16th place with a time of 17:18. The Boys pack attack sealed the results with Andrew Cuzzacrea finish 32nd, Nick Baes 34th, Austin Burkard 35th, and Alan Lingle 37th. Connor Cuzzacrea and Jayden Reynolds rounded out the scores with a 45th and 54th place finish.
Boys JV - 2nd
Alan Xu helped lead the boys JV XC team to a 2nd place finish overall. He was 10th and was followed by Nick Arcovio who finished 12th. Phil Stevenson finished 16th, and Trevor Lang 26. Ethan Niver rounded out the scorers with a 29th place finish.
Girls JV - 8th
Lucy Ingro finished 14th place overall and helped lead the JV girls team to an 8th place finish out of over 35 schools. Newfane was the top small school in this race. She was followed by Mallory Schultz and Bridget Martin. Allison Siegmann finished 76th while Madeleine Myers finished 106.

Boys 5th at states Class C race
The Boys team finished 5th place overall in the state in a highly contested meet. The boys were 5th, but only 1 point away from 3rd place in the state. The team was lead by Austin Burkard who finished 21st in the state and was the top 9th grade runner in the race. Robert Stevenson finished 36 place, while Nick Baes and Alan Lingle finished 49th and 50th in the race.
Girls 4th at States Class C race
The Girls team topped off their amazing season with a 4th place finish in the state. Kimberly Goerss finished 6th place overall earning all state honors. Cat Ersing was 50th place overall. She was followed by Vanessa Burkard finishing 66 in the state while Lydia Chunco finished 68th in the state. Marina Ersing finished 85 place to round out scores.

The Girls team won the section Class C title for the 3rd straight year. Kim Goerss was the individual section Champion winning the race of 116 runners. She was Followed by Vanessa Burkard who had a valiant race diving to the finish with a 13th place finish. Lydia Chunco finished closely behind with a 16th place finish. Leah Siegmann, Cat Ersing, Nina Burkard, Marina Ersing rounded out the scorers.
Boys win the Section 6 Class C race
The Boys Cross - County team won its 2nd straight section 6 Class B championship. Austin Burkard had a stellar race and won the individual section championship with a 1st place finish. Nick Baes was 2nd runner finish 12th place overall. Robert Stevenson finished 14th. Alan Lingle and Nathan Moran finished 19th and 20th while Conner and Andrew Cuzzacrea rounded out the scores placing 25th and 26th in the race.

The Boys finish the regular season as undefeated league champions. Austin Burkard and Robert Steven Crossed the finish line together to finish 1st and 2nd overall in the league. Alan lingle finished 6th place overall also finish 1st team all-league. Nick Baes finished 8th place 2nd team all-league. Nathan Moran, Conner Cuzzacrea, and Andrew Cuzzacrea also finished 2nd team all-league. Gannon Gibson, Matthew Pusateri, and Alden Gibson all earned honorable mention in the league.

Robert Stevenson was the race winner with a time of 17:08. He was followed by Autin Burkard with a time of 17:09. This time put him as fastest time for a 9th grader on our course. Nick Baes ran as third man finishing 4th overall in the race. He was followed by Alan Lingle. Matt Pusateri and Gannon Gibson crossed the line together 9th and 10th place overall.

Robert Stevenson led the way winning the race and setting a new 3rd fastest time on our course for a senior. Austin Burkard was 3rd in the race and he tied the 2nd fastest time on our course for a 9th grade runner. He was followed Alan Lingle, nick Baes, then Matthew Pusateri. Ben Dickinson set an new 2nd fastest mark for 7th grade boys.

Kim Goerss lead the way finishing 7th out of 159 runners. Lydia Chunco Was 19th place beaking 20 minutes. They were followed by Vanessa Burkard, Leah Siegmann, then Marina Ersing.

Robert Stevenson finishing 20th, and then Austin Burkard 22nd. This race contained 353 runners. Alan Lingle was the 3rd runner for Newfane followed by Nick Baes and then Andrew Cuzzacrea to round out the scorers.

The JV Boys team cleaned house getting a 1st place finish out of 40 complete teams. Connor Cuzzacrea lead the way finishing 2nd overall in the race of 391 runners. He was followed by Jaydon Reynolds, and Nathan Moran Who both finished in the top 10 in the race. Phill Stevenson was had a super star race finishing 23rd overall.

The Girls brought home a trophy finishing 3rd out of 30 teams. They Also finished as the top C sized team in the race. Kim Goerss was 5th place overall out of a race of 212 runners. Vanessa Burkard, and Lydia Chunco finished at 2nd and 3rd runners having standout races. Cat Ersing and Leah Siegmann rounded out the scores for the lady panther.

The Boys team finished 11th place out of 30 teams. They where the top Class C team in the race. Austin Burkard was the lead runner for the panthers finishing 21st place. Alan Lingle was the 3rd runner followed by Robert Stevenson, Gannon Gibson, then Matt Pusateri.

The Boys were lead by captain Robert Stevenson. He finished 5th place out of 160 runners helping lead his team to a 2nd place finish out of 25 schools. He was followed by Austin Burkard who was 15th, Alan Lingle 19th, Nick Baes, 35th and Matt Pusateri. The boys team was only 4 points away from the win.
Girls 2nd place small schools
The Girls team also took 2nd place out of 25 teams taking 2nd to a school that came to the meet from Ohio. Kim Goerss led the way finishing 3rd place overall out of 139. She was followed by Cat Ersing, Leah Siegmann was 18th place while Vanessa Burkard was 20th, Marina Ersing 26st, and Lydia Chunco 28th place.

Boys 3rd states class C
Samuel Auernhamer lead the way finishing 4th place overall in the state. This is the highest finish of any male runner in Newfane History. Collin Mcabe was the 2nd runner finishing 26th place. He was followed by Alan Lingle who finished 37th, Austin Burkard 51st, Noah Thornton 58th, Robert Stevenson 65th, and Matthew Puesitari 94th. There great race would have finished them 16th place overall in the all class merger at the state meet.
Girls 2nd states class C
Kim Goerss finished 4th place overall leading the team to a 2nd place finish overall in the race earning state honors. Cat Ersing finished 29th place, Lydia Chunco was the 3rd runner finishing 38th. Vanessa Burkard, and Nina Burkard used their strong kicks to finish 45th and 46th in the state. Leah Siegmann and Shelby Nerber both finished in the top 90 of the race. The girls team also held up strong in the all state merger finish 14th place among all classes.
Boys win the Section 6 Class C race
The Boys team got a dominate sectional win with Samuel Auernhamer's first place finish overall with a time of 16:33. Collin McCabe finished 8th place overall in the race. He was followed by Alan Lingle 18th place, then Noah Thornton 19th place. Austin Burkard was 20th. Robert Stevenson next and Matthew Pusateri rounded out scorers with a top 50 finish.

The Girls also dominated their competition. In the most exciting finish of the day Kim Goerss got narrowly beat for the individual title and was the individual runner up. Cat Ersing finished 5th overall with an amazing race. Nina Burkard had an 8th place finish, while Vanessa Burkard and Lydia Chunco finished 12th and 13th.

the boys finished 12-0 in the league. Samuel Auernhamer was the individual race winner and earned 1st team all-league honors. Collin McCabe finished 2nd in the race while Alan Lingle finished 7th. all-three earned 1st team all-league. Noah Thornton earned 2nd team all-league honors along with Austin Burkard. While Robert Stevenson and Matthew Pusateri earned honorable mention in the league.

All-three earned 1st team all-league honors. Lydia Chunco finished 8th and earned 2nd team all-league honors along with Cat Ersning and Shelby Nerber. Leah Siegmann earned honorable mention.

The Varsity Boys finished 3rd place overall in the unseeded race. Samuel Auernhamer finished 3rd place overall with a time of 15:53. He was followed by Collin McCabe with a time of 16:33, and Noah Thornton who ran 16:58. Austin Burkard was 4th man on the varsity squad and finished 61 out of 300 runners. He was the top 8th grade runner in the race.

Kimberly Goerss was top runner for the panthers with a time of 18:56. She was followed Vanessa Burkard who finished 26th place. Cat Ersing was a huge help running as the 3rd girl on varsity. She finished as the top 7th grade runner for the entire day of races. Nina Burkard was 4th. Leah Siegman was also a big contributor running as the 5th girl on the varsity squad.

Gannon Gibbson was The JV race winner that had 378 runners in it. His Time was fast enough to have made him top 7 on the boys varsity squad for Newfane. Matt Pussateri finished 5th. Andrew Cuzzacrea 37th, Conner Cuzzacrea finished 43rd, and Alden Gibson finished 48th. Alden was also the top 7th grade runner in the race of 378 runners. This Helped them finish 4th place overall as a team out of 66 teams entered.

The Girls cross country team also got 2 wins and is currently 2-0 in the league. Kimberly Goerss won the race with a time of 20:38. Vanessa Burkard finished 3rd while Lydia Chunco finished 4th place overall. Leah Siegmann was 4th girl She ran a time of 22:45 and passed two girls at the finish to help secure the win.

The boys and girls cross-county team competed at wayne high school. The Race was very competitive race with 30 school in the race. The girls XC team finished 4th place overall, and where the 1st place Class C school in the race. Kim Goerss was the top runner for the girls finishing 14th place, She was followed by Vanessa Burkard who was 26th and Lydia Chunco who was 48thCat Ersing was a big contributor finishing as the 4th girl on the team with a time of 22:50 and a 54th place finish out of 200 girls.
Boys 10th Division II
For the Boys race Samuel Auernhamer was the top newfane runner finishing 16th place. Collin McCabe was 37th place and Noah Thornton finished 44th. Austin Burkard was the lead middle school runner running as the 5th man for the varsity team. He finish with a time of 18:53. The varsity team finished 10th place overall out of 30 school and they where also the top Class C school in the race.

The Girls Where lead by Kim Goerss who finished 6th place overall with a time of 19:58. She was followed by Teammate Vanessa Burkard at 14th place and Lydia Chunco at 16th place.
Boys win Sectional Preview
The boys where lead by Samuel Auernhamer who finished 2nd place overall in the race with a time of 16:40 for 5k. He was followed by Collin McCabe who finished 9th in the race and Noah Thornton who was 14th.

Girls win States in Class C
Newfane Girls Cross-County (CC) team becomes the first ever team champion in Newfane School history winning the state champion ship in Class C at Chenengo Valley park this fall. They complete the championship trifecta joining individual state champions Bri Steel (track & Field) and Ryan Needle (wrestling). The girls CC team won with a great team effort. In CC you want to have the lowest score, similar to golf. The girls from Newfane Scored just 75 points followed by Canton 82, and Bronxville 84 points. The Girls pulled of this win with a great team effort of their top 7 girls. Kimberly Goerss lead the way with a 18th place finish and a time of 19:55. Nina Burkard was 22 with a time of 20:01. Vanessa Burkard 26th with a time of 20:07. Lydia Chunco finished 45th and ran 20:31. Marinia Ersing ran 21:31 and finished 75th place. Caitlin Clack was 87th with a time 21:54. Senior Ally Martin finished 105 and ran a time of 22:29. It was an amazing moment to see the girl the girls accomplish something that has never been done by a Newfane sport team. With Only one Senior we hope to have a few more great performances left for the next couple of years!
Girls win Sectionals in Class C
The boys and girls xc team competed this past weekend at sectionals. The Girls team finished 1st place in the section and are the Class C champs. They earned a trip to the state meet this next weekend in Binghamton NY. Kim Goerss finished 5th place, while Vanessa burked finished 7, and Nina Burkard 9th. Lydia Chucno finished 12th. Marina Ersing finished 17th, Caitlin Clack 20th, and Ally Martin 40th.
Boys finish 2nd in Class C
The Boys finished 2nd in the section just missing the state meet by 11 points. Samuel Auernhamer was the top runner finishing 14th in the section. Tyler Arnett was 15th, Collin McCabe 16th, and Alan Lingle 17th in the section. Robert Stevenson finished 38th while Noah Thornton finished 73rd.
Girls win All-League
The Girls finished the season as undefeated league champs 12-0. Kim Goerss was the race winner followed by Nina Burkard and Vanessa Burkard going 1,2,3 in the race. Lydia Chunco finished 7th. All these girls earned 1st team honors. Caitlin Clack finished 10th place in the race earning 2nd team all-league honors. Marina Ersing was 14th also earning 2nd team honors, while Leah Seigmann finished 21st earning honorable mention

The boys beat median and Albion and moved to 4-2 in the league. Alan lingle was the lead runner for the panthers finishing 2nd place overall in the race. He was followed by Tyler Arnett then Collin McCabe.
Girls vrs Albion (16-47 win) vrs Medina (15-48 win)
The Girls also got 2 wins and moved to 6-0 in the league. Vanessa Burakrd was the race winner with a time of 20:19. She was followed by Nina Burkard, Kim Goerss, and Lydia Chunco who placed 1st through 4th
Boys vrs Akron (26-31 win)
The boys got a win and are now 2-2. Collin McCabe was the lead panther and finished 2nd in the race with a time of 17:51. He was followed by Alan Lingle who finished 3rd with a time of 18:07.
Girls vrs Akron (17-46 win)
The Girls team got a win and are still undefeated in the league and ranked 5th in the state. Kim Goerss was the race winner with the 2nd fastest time all-time on the course running 19:40. Vanessa And Nina Burkard finished 2nd and 3rd. Lydia Chunco and Caitlin Clack rounded out the scorers.

Kim Goerss finished 1st, Followed By Vanessa Burkard and Nina Burkard. Lydia chunco was 5th in the race. Marina Ersing was 7th.
Boys vrs RH (16-46 win) Vrs Barker (23-34 loss)
The Boys had a Challenging battle with Barker. Collin McCabe finished 2nd place overall with a time of 18:25. Alan Lingle was 4th place, while Tyler Arnett finished 7th.
Mcquaid Girls 2nd in seeded race
The Girls team finished 2nd place overall in the seeded race and beat the number 3 ranked team in the state in the process. Kim Goerss led the way with a 6th place finish. Vanessa and Nina Burkard finished 16th and 17th. Lydia Chunco was 31st. while caitlin clack finished 44th.

For the Boys Collin McCabe finished 42nd and Alan Lingle finished 45th place overall.

The boys lost a close battle. Collin McCabe was top newfane runner finishing 4th place overall. He was followed by Tyler Arnett who finished 6th place, and allan lingle who was 7th place.
Girls vrs Wilson (17-46 win)
Kim Goerss was the race winner with a time of 21:02. Nina Burkard was 2nd in the race followed by Vanessa who was 3rd. Caitlin Clack was 4th girl and finished 5th place overall.

Girls finish 8th
The lady panthers finished 7th in the race and 30th out of 85 teams. Kim Goerss led the way finishing 11th place in the race out of over 200 runners. Vanessa and Nina Burkard where the next finisher finishing 38 And 39.
Boys Finish 18th
Collin McCabe was the lead runner with a time 18:49 minutes. Robert Stevenson was the 2nd finisher for the panthers, having a break out race with a time of 18:54.

Girls 1st place overall
The Girls team won the Small school division. Kim Goerss was the race winner running a time of 19:05. She was followed by Vanessa Burkard who finished 12th place with a time of 20:08. Nina Burkard was 19th with a time of 20:22. Lydia Chunco was the 4th girl with a solid time of 20:42. Caitlin Clack had a great finish out kicking runners to get a time of 21:40. Ally Marting had time of 22:10.
Boys 7th place overall
The Boys finished 7th and Collin McCabe was the lead runner. He finished had a strong race finishing just outside of the top 10. His time was 16:44. Alan lingle was the next runner with a time of 17:10. Robert Stevenson ran a time of 17:44. Matt Griffith was the 5th man.
Modified Boys 2nd
The Modified XC team competed this weekend at East Aurora in a 1.5 mile race. The Boys had a great start to the season finishing 2nd place overall out of 15+ teams. The team was lead by Austin Burkard. He ran 9:17 and finished 7th place overall. Connor and Andrew Cuzzacrea ran 9:56 and 9:59 finishing 19th and 20th. Phill Stevenson and Ryan Nugent had strong races. Tim Birdsall and Patrick Carpenter rounded out the scorers.
Modified girls 7th
The girls had some great performances as well. Shelby Nerber led the team followed very closely by Reagan Luce. They where 23 and 24th place. Bridget Martin was the 3rd girl. She was followed by Kerissa Duxbury and Julia Manzanka.

The Girls team cleaned house. Kim Goerss won the gold race and ran the fastest time for small school girls. Her teammate Nina Burkard was 3rd in race, followed by Vanessa Burkard who was 6th in the race. Lydia Chunco had the 8th fastest time and lead her relay team to a 3rdplace finish. She ran with Caitlin Clack and Ally Martin.

The Girls Blue race also had great team performances. Lauren Boudamen and Lauren Bates team took first place overall with Marina Ersing. The team with Allison Siegman Leah Siegman, and Meliane Meyers took 2nd place overall. Katy Dean, Mary Dixon, and Faith Westgate had their team take 3rd.

States - Monroe Woodbury
Samuel Auernhamer finished 36th place at the state meet with a time of 17:35. He was a member of the section 6 team that won the intersectional meet.
Nina Burkard finished 20th place with a time of 20:16. She earned a state medal. Kim Goerss finished 29th wich was her best state finish so far. She ran a time of 20:38. Vanessa Burkard finished 49th place with a time of 21:23.
Sectionals - Girls 2nd in C/C1
The girls and a strong team performance and finished 2nd in the section. Nina Burkard was the lead runner for the girls finishing 6th. Kim Goerrs finished 7th, and Vanessa Burkard finished 8th. Lydia Chunco finished 14th place and Allie DeBiase Finished 25th place. There was 137 runners in the race. The top 3 runners qualified for the state meet.
Sectionals - Boys 3rd in C1
The boys had a great team effort at sectionals. Samuel Auernhamer finished 7th place qualifying for the state meet. Tyler Arnett was 13th place. Hunter Soles was 49th place, while Alan Lingle finished 54th place. Matt Griffith was 5th man and finished 70th place.

The girls had a great race finishing 1st place in the meet and ending the season with a 14-0 league record. Kim Goerss won the meet with at time of 20:11, Nina Burkard finished 2nd place and was only 3 seconds behind kim. Vanessa Burkard finished 4th place, while Lydia Chunco finished 5th place. Allie DeBiase finished 12th place and earned 2nd team all-league honors.

For the Boys Samuel Auernahmer was the bright star who finished 1st place overall in the race earning first team all-league honors. Tyler Arnett was 3rd place overall and also earned 1st team honors. Alan Lingle finished 21st place earning honorable mention in the league. The boys ended the regular season tied for 2nd place in the league with a 11-3 record.

The Newfane Cross-country team competed in the McQuaid invitational this weekend. There was over 8000 thousand runner at the meet and 300 in the races. The girls finishing 1st out of over 40 schools. Kim Goerss lead the the way finishing 1st overall. She was followed Nina Burkard who finished 2nd place. Vanessa Burked finished 12th. Lydia Chunco and Allie DeBiase finished the race 28th and 29th place.

The girls team was lead Kim Goerss with a 1st place finish in 19:53. The Lady Panthers had a strong front pack who included Nina Burkard, Vanessa Burkard, and Lydia Chunco. The top 4 girls finished 12th place and higher out of 100 girls in the race. Lulu boudeman, Caitlin Clack, and Lauren Auernhamer ran in a tight pack to round out our scoring runners. And all finish under 23 minutes.

The girls team finished 3rd place overall out of the 19 teams. Kim Goerss was the lead runner finishing 13th place overall. She was followed closely by Nina Burkard who finished 16th place. Lydia Chunco was 19 while Vanessa Burkard Was 23rd.

Kim Goerss competed this past weekend at SUNY Canton. She finished 40th place overall, 6 places better then last year. Kims Time was 20:30.4 Excellent work.
Sectionals - Girls 3rd in C1
Kim Goerrs finished 7th place overall and qualified for her 2nd straight state meet. She was followed by Nina Burkard who was 11th place overall and only 2 off of qualifying for the state meet. Lydia Chunco was 21st place and the top 7th grade runner in the race. Allie Debiase finished 32nd having a personal best race. She was followed by Caitlin Clack and Laura Auernhanmer who finished 48th and 49th.

Lydia's Time of 22:26.4 was good enough for the 3rd fastest time by a 7th grade girl on our course.She was followed by Lauren Seymour who finished 8th place overall.

The boys and girls team competed last night vrs Barker and Albion. For the Girls race Kim Goerss got the win with a time of 20:25. She was followed by Nina Burkard who ran 20:48 and Lydia Chunco who finished 3rd to help get the automatic win. Chunco ran a time of 21:27. Katelyn Dean had a break through race and was the 7th girl qualifying her for a varsity spot finish. Her time was 23:41. She was followed closely by Caitlin Clack who ran 23:49. The Girls team is now 4-0 in league competition and is currently ranked 4th in small schools western new york and 14th in the state for class C.

Girls 6thKim Goerss finished 10th place in the race while Nina Burkard was 32nd and the 2nd 8th grade runner in the race. Lydia Chunco ran 21:38 and finished 35th overall. Ally Martin was the lead high school runner finishing 56th out of 138 with a time of 22:48. She was followed by Laura Auernhamer who was 58th place. Lauren Seymore was 72nd Allie Debiase rounded out the scorers with a 75th place finish.

Kim Goerss was on a relay team with Ally Martin and Laura Auernhamer that finished 4th overall out of 19 teams. She ran 4th fastest time for small school girls. Nina Burkard ran the 9th fastest time for small school girls, and her relay team with Lauren Seymour and Lydia Chunco finished 6th place overall out of 19 teams. Caitlin Clack and Faith Westgate and Caroline Connolly ran in the Varsity B race. Their relay team finished 4th place overall.
Samuel Auernhamer had one of the top 5 fastest times for the small school boys race, while Adam Nowicki had the 9th fastest. In the Varsity B race Mark Connolly, Anthony Harris, and Matt Griffith finished 3rd out of 15 teams earning team awards.

NYS Federation meet
Kelly Bochnewetch qualified to compete in the Federation meet this past weekend at Bowdin park. This is the highest honor and most competitive race in the state. Only highly elite athletes compete at this level. There was 254 girl runners at the race and Kelly ran a great race finishing 122. overall, running 20:50.7 on a highly challenging course.
States Queensbury NY
Kelly Bochnewetch competed at her 3rd state meet, while Kim Goerss was able to attend her first. Kelly finished 37th place running, while kim finished 46th place with a time of 20:00.2. Great season this year laddies!

The Boys and girls team both finished 5th out of 20 teams. Kelly Bochnewetch was the individual sectional champion, qualifying for her 3rd state meet. Kim Goerss finished 7th place qualifying for her first state meet

Codie Liddell, and Nick Nolan rounded out the Newfane Scorers.

Laura Auernhamer was the 2nd high school runner to finish for the panthers. She finished 85th place overall, and was followed closely by Kate Bochnewetch who finished 89th.

The JV Boys team also ran well and was lead by Jericho Adams. Jericho finished 52nd place overall. Tyler Simmons was the 2nd place finisher for JV Squad.

Hunter Soles and Andy Gelyon rounded out the scorers for the Panthers. Deven Dumais ran 21:28 and set the new record for 7th grade boys.

The boys team finished tied for 6th place out of 12 but was only a few points from taking 3rd place. Ethan Morgan Lead the way with his 7th place finish. Samuel Auernhamer was 24th place. Cyrus Simmons was 25th place, While Codie Liddell finished 26th out of over 70 runners.
Oakfield Alabama Dash in the Dark:
The girls and boys teams both finished 5th place out of 22 teams. The lead runners for the girls team was Kelly, Bochnewetch 12:43, Kate Bochnewetch13:55, and Lizzy Bassler 14:24. Ally Martin also ran a fast time, running the two mile course in 14:17.
Ethan Morgan, Nick Nolan, and Codie Liddel lead the boys team. Eathan had the 8th fastest time for small school boys. He ran 11:09. Nick had a time of 11:32, while Codie ran 12:09. Samuel Aurnhamer also ran a 12:09.

Kelly Bochnewetch 16th Class C at the State meet
Kelly Bochnewetch competed this past weekend in the Cross-Country State meet held at Elma Meadows golf course. She ran an amazing gutsy race finishing 16th overall in the state and earning state team honors. Kelly ran the course in 19:36. Over 30 seconds faster the her previous time on the course. She Finished as the top runner from section six in the Class C race.
Girls finish 5th in Class C, 3rd in C 1
Kelly Bochnewetch helped lead the girls team to a 3rd place finish in Class C. She ran 20:07 and finished 2nd place overall in the race to qualify for her 2nd state meet. She will be competing this saturday at Elma Medows. She was followed by Demi Eadie who finished 30th place overall. Lizzy Basslers was 35th place and laura Auernhamer finished 37th. Allie Debiase rounded out the scorers finishing 48th.
Boys finish 9th in Class C, 3rd in C 1
The boys team finished 3rd place in class C1 and was lead by Ethan Morgan who finished 26th place overall. Dan Gifford finished 31st and ran a time of 19:11. Nate Martin was 44th, Cyrus Simmons and Codie Liddell all finished top 50 in the section.

Kelly Bochnewetch was the race winner for the girls earning first team all-leauge honors. She won by over 40 seconds. Demi Eadie was 15th place, Laura Aurnhamer finished 18th and Lizzy Bassler 19th. All 3 earning honorable league mention. The girls team ended the season with a 12-2 league record.

The boys where lead by Ethan Morgan. Ethan finished 21st place earning honorable mention for league honors. Ethan was also the top 9th grade runner in the race. Cyrus Simmons was 25th and was the 2nd 9th grader in the league across the line. Dan Gifford was 3rd man and 31st place. Drew Hamelink was the top 8th grade runner in the race.
Girls vs Medina: (15-50 win ) vs Albion: (19-41 Win)
Kelly Bochnewetch led the girls two a double win and set the New course record of 19:16. She is currently undefeated and the girls team improved their record two 6-1. Lizzy Bassler finished 3rd place overall and she was followed by Demi Eadie who was 4th and then Laura Auranhammer who was 7th place with a time of 23:08. Allie Debiase rounded out the scorers.
Boys vs Medina: (26-29 loss) vs Albion: (34-23 loss)
Ethan Morgan set the new fastest time for a 9th grade boy on our course with a time of 19:57 and a 5th place finish. Cyrus Simmons was 8th place and ran the 2nd fastest time for a 9th grade boy. Nate Martin finished 9th. Drew Hamelink finished with a time of 25:26 and set the 3rd fastest time for a 8th grade runner.

The Boys where lead by Nate Martain who finished 3rd place overall with a time of 19:07. He was followed by Dan Gifford who finished the race in 6th place with a time of 19:21. Ethan Morgan was 3rd runner for the panthers, followed by Cyrus Simmons.
Girls vs Akron: (24-31 Loss ) vs CSAT: (19-43 Win )
The girls were lead by Kelly Bochnewetch. She won the race with a time of 21:04. Demi Eadie dove across the line followed by Laura Aurnahmer who was the next highschool runner for the girls team finishing 7th place overall in the race. She had a time of 23:16. Next was Lizzy Bassler and Kate Bochnewetch.
Girls vs Barker: (21-34 Win ) vs Wilson: (27-29 Win )
The boys and girls cross country team competed last night vrs Barker and Wilson. The girls got two wins and improved their record to 3 - 0. Kelly Bochnewetch lead the way with a first place finish overall. She was followed by Lizzy Bassler who finished 4th in the race. Allie DeBiase was the 4th girl for Newfane. Megan Payne rounded out the pack.

Kelly Bochnewetch had an amazing race finishing 9th place overall in the seeded race earning an elite runner patch. Kelly was followed by Demi Eadie who finished just over 107th place and Lizzy Bassler who was 109. Lauran Bates was 173 and Megan Payne was 176th place.
Boys
The boys had strong finishes by Ethan Morgan who ran 17:30 and got 51st place and Cyrus Simmons who was 17:33 and got 56 place. Dan Gifford was the 3rd man across the line with a time of 18:05. That was good for a top 100 finish. Codie Liddell and Zach Anderson rounded out the scorers.
Boys vs RH: (Win 20-39)
For the boys Ethan morgan lead the panthers in the race and had a 2nd place finish. The boys finished 2-6 giving them a land slide win. Ethan was was followed by Cyrus Simmons who was 3rd and then Dan Gifford 4th, Cody Lidell, then Zach Anderson.
Girls vs RH: (Win 17-38)
The girls team also had a land slide victory with a score of 17-38. Kelly Bochnewetch won the race with a time of 20:23. She was followed by sister Kate who was 2nd then by Lizzy Bassler who was 3rd place overall. Middle school runner Demi Eadie was 4th place.
EA Invite:
The boys and girls team competed this weekend at East Aurora Invite. The boys team place 4th out of 16 school. The team was lead by Nate Martin who finished 17th place overall. He was followed by Cyrus Simmons who finished 19th and Ethan Morgan who was 20th out of over 100 runners.
The Girls team took 6th place and was lead by Kelly Bochnewetch. Kelly finished 7th place overall. Kate Bochnewetch was the 2nd runner for Newfane and finished 26th place. Lizzy Bassler was the 3rd place girl for the panthers and she finished 37 out of the 100 runners in the race.
Oakfield Alabama Dash in the Dark:
The boys and girls XC Team competed this Friday night at Oakfiled Alabama invite The meet was a relay style race and took place at night under the lights with the last race ending at 10:pm. Dance music was playing as the runners dashed around 2 miles around the campus. Both the girls and boys teams both had strong showings.
The Varsity A team was lead by Kelly Bochnewetch who ran a 12:41, followed by Kate Bochnewetch and Lizzy Bassler who also broke 14 min for 2 miles. Becca Lafever was the 4th Newfane Girl followed by Demi Eadie as the 5th girl.
The boys team had a huge improvement from last year. The Varsity boys team had solid performance from the top runners. Ethan morgan finished his two mile course in 11:15, followed by a great gutsy race from Nate Martin. Cyrus Simmons had his first race of his career and it was a great one finishing under 12 minutes as our 3rd man. Zack Anderson, was the 4th man and was followed by Joe Gelyon and Cody Liddell who both had great first races and have room for improvement!

Sarah Ziemba participated in her 3rd consecutive state meet. She had her best individual state finish ending up at 45th state. Sarah was a great competitor, and even better teammate. She will be missed and we wish her luck in Arizona
Girls win All-League
The boys and girls cross country team competed This week at the All-League meet. The Girls captured their 4th straight league championship in a row and their 14th in the 30 year history of the program. Sarah Ziemba was the league champ winning the race for the 2nd year. She set the 16th fastest time ever run on the course. She was first team All-league. Kelly Bochnewetch was 5th and also first team. Kate Bochnewetch earned 2nd team all league honors. Becca Lafever earned honorable mention. Demi Eadie was the lead girl runner in the middle school. She finished 26th and her fastest time of the year with 23:06

The boys had some bad fortune and got riddled with the injury bug the week before the race. Josh Martin Was the lead runner finishing 26th overall. Darius Matalavage was 2nd on the team followed by Gabe Schuler. Ethan Morgan was the lead middle school runner.
Boys vs Medina (Win 15-50) vs RoyHart: (Loss 28-29)
The boys split between RH and Medina. The boys ran a great team race getting edged out only by one point against RH. Darius Matalavage ran a strong race finishing 4th place overall. He was Chas Parker was the number 2 guy finishing 6th place overall.
Girls vs Medina (Win 15-50) vs RoyHart: (Win 21-36)
The girls remained undefeated with both wins over RH and Medina. Sarah Zeimba set a new course record while winning the race with a time of 20:04. She was followed by Kelly Bocknewetch. Who finished 3rd.
JV Girls finish 3rd at Alden
The Boys and Girls Cross-Country team competed this weekend at Alden Invite. It was a amazing race that included wind, ran, and hail.
Darius Matalavage was the lead runner for the panthers. He finished 34th. Gabe Schuler was the number two man. He finished 55th in the race.
In the Girls varsity race, Sarah Ziemba was the winner of a bizarre race finish. Kelly Bochnewetch finished 6th overall.
The JV girls finished 3rd place overall, Laura Aurnhemer was the lead runner finishing 8th overall. Demi Eadie finished 11th. The lead Highschool runner was Baily Koithen.
Girls vs Albion: (Win 23-32) vs Wilson: (Win 22-33)
Last night Newfane’s boys and girls cross country teams went up against both Wilson and Albion. The girls crushed their opponents, who were the only other undefeated teams in the league. Sarah Ziemba won the race in 19:34 while Kelly Bochnewetch came in 3rd place with a hard finish and a time of 20:19. Good effort by Kiki Dy, 5th, and Kate Bochnewetch, 6th. Megan Eldridge, Megan Payne rounded out the scorers.
Boys vs Albion: (Loss 17-44) vs Wilson: (Win 23-36)
The Boys team beat Wilson and lost to Albion. Darius Matlavage had an impressive finish and came in 1st with a time of 17:34. Chaz Parker pushed through his injury and placed 7th. Josh Martin, 12th, and Gabe Schueler, 13th , also had good races. Jarret Hutchinson finished with his best time, 20:08. Great job to all! Our next race is Saturday at the Alden Invite.

The girls beat both Akron and Barker improving to 3-0. Sarah Ziemba was the lead runner winning the race. She was followed by Kiki Dy who was 2nd and Kelly Bochnewetch who was 3rd. Kate Bochnewetch was 5th. Megan Eldredge rounded out the scorers. In the latest XC poles, Newfane Girls team is ranked 6th in the state.

The Boys team lost close races to both Akron and Barker. Darius Matalavage was the lead runner for the Panthers. Darius ran 18:04 over the 3 mile course. Nate Martin was the 2nd Newfane runner, followed by chas Parker who was the 3rd runner. Josh martin finished 17th and was the 4th runner for Newfane. 8th grade runner Ethan Morgan ran a strong race and finished as Newfane's 5th runner.
Mcquaid Girls 5th in Seeded race
The Newfane Cross-country team competed in the McQuaid invitational this weekend. There was over 6000 thousand runner at the meet and 200 in the races. The girls team competed in the elite seeded race finishing 5th out of over 20 schools. Sarah Ziemba lead the the way finishing 11th overall. She was followed Kelly Bochnewetch finished 23rd place. Kate Bochnewetch who was 36h place and Kiki Dy who was 38th place. Becca LaFeaver rounded out the scorers with a 72nd place.
Mcquaid Boys 7th in Unseeded race
Chas parker lead the boys team to a 7th place finish in their race. Darius Matalavage finished two spots behind with a 26th place finish. Nate Martin was the 3rd runner finishing 52nd place. Josh Martin was 102 and Gabe Schuler finished 106. Alex Rosenbaum and Brandon Winchell both ran strong races to improve their times.
Girls vs CSAT: (Win 18-45)
The girls team got another win and are now 1-0. Sarah Ziemba was the race winner with a time of 19:42. This is a new course record. She lead the Panthers to a 18-45 win. Kate Bochnewetch was the 2nd place finisher in the meet. Becca LaFeaver was 4th Demi Eadie set the new record for fastest time run by a 7th grade girl from newfane on our course. She finished 6th overall. Lauren Bates had the 2nd fastest time run by a 7th grade runner.

The boys are now 1-0. Darius Matalavage helped lead the boys to there great finish by placing first overall in the meet with a time of 18:10. The boys and girls cross-Country team Competed this weekend at East Aurora. The Girls team once again grinded out another victory, continuing the their Unbeaten streak for the season. There was many great performances. Sarah Ziemba lead the pack with a second place finish in the meet of over 100 runners. Kelly Bochnewetch Also had a strong finish with a 4th place finish. Kate bochnewetch finished 9th followed by Kiki Dy with a 10th place finish earning top 10 T – Shirt.
The boys also ran good with some surprising performances. Chas Parker Lead the way, followed Darious Matalavage who was 2 seconds behind. Nate martin was the 3rd runner. All three ran under 18:00 minutes. He was followed by josh martin who was the 4th runner with a time of 19:10 then Gabe Schuler.

The boys team had a great first performance by Darius Matalavage. He ran his 2 mile race in 11:42. Chas Parker Ran 11:40 for 2 miles. Josh Martin was 3rd Man with a time of 12:29. Gabe Schuler was the 4th runner. Zack Anderson, and Alex Rosenbam broke into the varsity squad with strong races.

Section VI Championships:
The Girls' Team finished 2nd in the Class B Championships. This is their 2nd year finishing behind East Aurora. Sarah Ziemba led the way finishing 7th overall. Sarah qualified for the NYS Championships next Saturday at Lakeside Park in Pawling NY. Erin Hannah finished in 15th place with Kelly Bochnewetch following in 16th, Kate Bochnewetch was 17th, Becca Lafever finished 20th, Kiki Dy 22nd and Katie Krull 33rd.
The boys finished in 9th place. Nate Martin led the team in 45th place, followed by Gabe Schuler in 52nd place, Chas Parker was 54th and Paul Roberts was 57th overall.
Niagara Orleans League Championships:
The girls tied the All-League Meet lowest score record with a team score of 23. This was done by having 4 of the 5 tops in the race. Sarah Ziemba was 1st, followed by Kiki Dy in 2nd with Kelly Bochnewetch in 3rd place and Erin Hannah finishing in 5th place. Kate Bochnewetchwas 12th and Becca Lafever finished in 13th place in the race.
The Girls' Team finished undefeated with a 14-0 league record on the way to their 3rd straight championship.Earning 1st Team All-League honors were Sarah Ziemba, Kiki Dy, Kelly Bochnewetch and Erin Hannah. Kate Bochnewetch and Becca Lafever earned 2nd Team All-League status.
The Boys' team finished in 6th place at the league meet. Newfane was led by Nate Martin who finished earning Honorable Mention All-League.

Girls vs Albion: (Win 21-34) & vs Medina (Win 15-50)The girls won against both teams and stay undefeated with a 6-0 league record this year. The girls are currently 43-3 over the last 4 years. Kiki Dy was the race winner with a time of 20:55. She had the 4th fastest time ever on our home course. Kelly Bochnewetch was 3rd and had the 7th fastest time run on our home course. Sarah Ziemba was 4th with a 21:24. She had the 7th fastest time run on our home course. Erin Hannah was 6th with a time of 21:28. Becca LaFever rounded out the scorers with her 7th place finish.
Boys vs Albion: (Loss 40-19) & vs Medina (Win 22-38)The boys had a split, beating Medina and losing against Albion. Chas Parker was the leader for the boys finishing 2nd overall with a 17:55. He tied for the 9th fastest time run on the home course by a boy. Nate Martin
was 8th in the race and ran a 19:07. He was followed by Josh Martin, Paul Roberts, Gabe Schuler, and Ryan Lovewell who all ran 19:37 -19:49.

Teammate Erin Hannah came in 4th and was the 2nd Newfane runner. She was followed by Kelly Bochnewetch, Kiki Dy and Becca Lafeaver. Amy Lanighan and Katie Krull rounded out the scorers.

The Boys team also got a win Vrs Akron. Chas Parker lead the way finishing 4th overall with a time of 18:28. The tandem of Nate and Josh Martin came in 6th and 7th both with great races and finishing under 19:00. Ryan Lovewell, Paul Roberts, Nick Kazuba, and Gabe Schuler rounded out the scorers.
McQuaid Invitational: Girls - 1st Place; Boys - 14th PlaceThe girls and boys cross-country team competed this weekend at McQuaid Invitational in Rochester. The Girls team finished 1st overall in their race. The race had over 240 runners. Sarah Ziemba ran 19:15 and finished 15th place. Kiki Dy ran 19:15 to finish 21st. Kelly Bochnewetch was 22nd and ran 19:17. Erin Hannah was 48th with a time of 20:16. Becca LaFever was 65th place and ran a 20:42.
In the JV race Lizzy Bassler finished as the top girl and ran a 22:40.
The Boys team was led by Chas Parker. He was 31st place and ran a 17:45. Nate Martin was 67th place and ran a 18:20. Josh Martin, Gabe Schuler, and Paul Roberts rounded out the scorers.

Beaver Island State Park: Girls - 1st Place, Boys - 3rd Place:The girls finished 1st place overall out of the 20 schools. The teams were broken up into 4 races.
In Race One, Kiki Dy ran 20:15 and Sarah Ziemba ran 20:36 finishing 3rd and 4th overal.
Race Two was won by Kelly Bochnewetch who ran a 20:51. Erin Hannah was 3rd finishing with a 21.33.
In Race Three, Becca Lafever finished 2nd overall with a time of 22:50. Amy Lanighan was 4th overall.
In Race Four, Katie Krull finished 7th, Megan Payne was 21st, Bailey Koithan was 41st and Jordan Lafever was 47th.
The Boys team finished 3rd overall with the same race format.
In Race One, Chas Parker finished 19th overall running 18:25 and Nate Marin was 27th with a time of 18:59.
Gabe Schuler finished 27th and Nick Kaszuba was 28th in the 2nd Race.
The Third Race had Paul Roberts finishing 29th, Ryan Lovewell 31st and Alex Rosenbaum 35th.
Byron Bergen Invitational: Girls - 1st Place, Boys - 3rd Place, JV Girls 1st Place.The Girls team won the invite for the 3rd time in a row. Kiki Dy won the race with a time of 19:05. Kelly Bochnewetch was 2nd overall 19:59; closely followed by Kate Bochnewetch who was 5th with a 20:45 and Erin Hannah who was 10th. Becca LaFever finished 19th and Katie Krull rounded out the scorers with a 30th place finish.
The Boys team finished 3rd place at Byron Bergen for the 2nd straight year. Chas Parker lead the way finishing 6th with a time of 17:55. Josh Martin was 2nd for the team with a time of 18:40. Nate Martin finished 22nd in the race. Gabe Schuler finished the race in 35th place, Nick Kazuba was 46th. Paul Roberts and Jared Vanderbeck rounded out the scorers in 50th and 60th place.
The Girls JV team also took first place. Bri Gross won the race with a time of 24:35, Lizzy Bassler was 2nd in the race with a time of 24:36. Megan Payne finished 3rd place overall. Jordan LaFever finished 7th and Bailey Koithan was 8th.
Alex Rosenbaum was the lone runner in the boys JV race. He finished 8th place with a time of 22:20
2009 Results!
NYS Cross Country Championships at SUNY Plattsburg
Kelly Bochnewetch and Sarah Ziemba competed this past weekend at the New York State Cross Ccountry meet in Plastburg New York. The course was wet and muddy but that didn’t stop the Lady Panther runners from performing well. Sarah Ziemba led the way finishing 58th place in the state and running her fastest time of the season, 20:04. Kelly Bochnewetch finished 106 with a time of 22:08. This is a great accomplishment for these two athletes.
The officials posted the Section VI State Qualifiers merged results for Class AA, A, B, C, D combined. Our Girls Cross Country Team would have been 4th out of the 45+ school in Section VI, missing second place by only 3 points. This is an amazing accomplishment our Newfane Cross Country program. Our Boys Cross Country Team finished 14th out of 54 teams in the merged results. Congratulations to all the team members for their hard work and dedication to their sport during the season and the off season!
Section VI Championships: Girls-2nd Place, Boys-3rd Place:The girls added a 2nd place finish in Section VI Champions to their League Championship, with an outstanding team effort. Kelly Bochnewetch was 9th place and qualified for the state meet with a time of 20:27. She will also
be joined at the state meet with Sarah Ziemba who finished 10th place with a time of 20:28. Rachel Parker finished off an excellent career with a 14th place finish and a time of 21:05. Kiki Dy was 16th, followed by Erin
Hannah who was 17th and Kate Bochnewetch who was 18th place with a time of 21:40. Bethany Dewey was 27th and ran 22:38.
Boys finish up the season in 3rd place in the Section behind Alden and Champions East Auroa. Nick Irr was 13th place overall with a time of 18:13. Cody Burns was 14th place and ran 18:15. Josh Martin was 25th place with a time of 18:45. Chas Parker was 30th and ran a time of 18:59. James Schluer 40th place with a time of 19:21.

Niagara-Orleans All-League Championships: Girls-1st Place: The girls team finished the season undefeated with a 12-0 record this year and are League Champions for the 2nd straight year. They performed so well at the league meet that if the rest of the league was one team, Newfane
still would have won. Six of the first 9 runners in the race were from Newfane.
Sarah Ziemba placed 2nd in the race; she was only 3 seconds off the winner. KiKi Dy was 4th place, Rachel Parker was 5th place, Kelly Bochnewetch was 6th place and Erin Hanna finished in 7th place. Sarah, KiKi, Rachel, Kelly & Erin all earned 1st Team All-League honors.
Kate Bochnewetch was 9th place and earned 2nd team all-league honors. Bethany Dewey Finished 16th place and earned Honorable mention. Amy Lanighan was 22nd place and Ellen Kagles was 44th place. The girls team has a combined league record of 37-3 over the span of the last three years. Amazing job girls.

Their only losses of the season was to Barker who was 2nd in the state last year. Cody Burns finished in 11th place, Nick Irr was 12th, Josh Martin was 14th. Cody, Nick & Josh earned 2nd team All League honors. Chas Parker was 17th earning honorable mention. James Schuler finished 26th, Gabe Schuler was 39th and Ryan Lovewell was 41st and rounded out the Varsity team.
Clarence Invitational: Girls-3rd Place, Boys-4th Place:
Newfane Girls team finished in 3rd place in the small school division with 83 points behind Starpoint 69 points and Amherst 58 points. The 8th grade Newfane girls stole the show with Ki Ki Dy finishing 12th with a time of 22:09 on the sloppy and muddy course. Kelly Bochnewetch was 13th with a time of 22:17. 14th place went to Sarah Ziemba ran 22:20. Next was Kate Bochnewetch who was 21st and ran 23:01. Erin Hannah the lone upper

Newfane's Boys team finished 4th place with 127 points with Wayne HS from Section 5 winning with 22 points. Nick Irr led the way for the Panthers with a 9th place finish and a time of 18:52. Josh Martin was 16th and ran
19:20. Chas Parker was 30th and James Schuler 35th.
Boys Newfane (27) vs Albion (28):
Boys won a close meet with a score of Newfane 27 - Albion 28. With this win the Boys team moves to 5 wins 1 loss in the league. James Schuler stole the show out kicking Albion's number 4 runner to help win the meet.
James Schuler was 7th place and ran 18:15. Nick Irr was the top finisher for Newfane, he was 2nd and ran 17:17. 3rd was Cody Burns in 17:24. He was followed by Josh Martin who ran 18:12. Chas Parker rounded out the scorers with a 9th place finish.
Girls Newfane (19) vs Albion (40):
The girls team remained undefeated beating Albion 19 to 40. Rachel Parker won the meet with a time of 19:33.5. 2nd was Kelly Bochnewetch who ran 20:31. Erin Hannah had another solid performance finishing 3rd and running 20:38. 6th place was Sarah Ziemba followed by Ki Ki Dy who was 7th and ran 21:33. Kate Bochnewetch was 9th overall and finished with Bethany Dewey. Amy Lanighan rounded out the Varsity team beating Albion's 4th girl.

Girls Newfane (15) vs CSAT (44):
The girls team improved to 3-0 beating CSAT with a score of 15-44. Kelly Bochnewetch was the race winner and set a new 8th grade course record running 21;56. Erin Hannah was 2nd and ran 22:00, she was followed by Bethany Dewey in a time of 22:07. Rachel Parker jogged easily to a 4th place finish. Amy Lanighan was 5th with a time of 23:14 and Ellen Kagels finished 7th overall.
McQuaid Invitational: Girls-6th Place, Boys-3rd Place
The girls finished 6th our of 28 teams in small schools unseeded at McQuaid this weekend. Last year the girls finished 11th. Kelly Bochnewetch finished 25th in a time of 20:15, followed by Erin Hannah was 40th in 20:41 nipping out Sarah Ziemba (41st) in 20:43, Bethany Dewey finished 62nd in 21:28, Kate Bochnewetch finished #114 in 22:37 and Amy Lanighan finished 121st in 22:43.
The boys finished 3rd out of 36 teams in small schools unseeded at McQuaid. Last year they finished 13th. Leading the team was Cody Burns (17th) in 17:08, Nick Irr (32nd) in 17:28, Josh Martin (34th) in 17:30, Chas Parker (72nd) in 18:23, James Schuler (73rd) in 18:24, Ryan Lovewell (139th) in 19:16 and Gabe Schuler (153rd) in 19:34.
Boys Newfane (18) vs Akron (45) & Newfane (39) vs Barker (20)
The Barker boys team was 2nd in NYS last year. Newfane gave them a good race, but came up a tad short. Nick Irr was the first boy taking 2nd overall out of 42 runners. Nick ran 17:50; followed closely by Cody Burns finishing 5th in 18:08. Josh Marting was 10th and ran 18:48. Chas Parker was 11th and James Schuler was 13th place overall. The boys team is now 1-1.
Girls Newfane (20) vs Akron (41) & Newfane (20) vs Barker (38):
The defending League Champs are now 2-0 and still undefeated. Sarah Ziemba was the lead girl from Newfane with a time of 21:32, Erin Hannah finished 3rd in 21:34, Kelly Bochnewetch was 4th in 21:36, Kate Bochnewetch was 7th in 22:09 followed by Bethany Dewey in 22;31. Kiki Dy was 11th. Rachel Parker was taking it easy and jogged her way to a 13th place finish. Amy Lanighan was 15th overall and Ellen Kagels was 25th.
East Aurora Invitational: Girls-7th Place, Boys-5th PlaceThe girls finished 7th out of 20 teams. Kelli Bocknewetch led the Varsity team witha 24th place finish. Kiki Dy finished 41st overall. Erin Hannah was 1 second behind and finished 42nd. Kate Bocknewetch was 56th place, Bethany Dewey finished 57th, Sarah Ziemba was 73rd, and Amy Lanighan was 85th. The race consisted of 140 runners. The boys team took 5th place out of 24 schools. Cody Burns was the lead runner finishing in 19th out of 168 runners. Nick Irr finished 26th and was 12 seconds behind Cody with a time of 17:15 for the 3-mile race. Josh Martin was 45th followed by James Schuler in 64th and Chas Parker who was 67th.
Byron Bergen Invitational: Girls-1st Place, Boys-3rd Place
The girls where the defending 2008 champs and they once again took home the gold finishing first out of 16 teams. Ki Ki Dy lead the way finishing 2nd place overall at the meet with a time of 20:07. Kelly Bocknewetch cracked the top ten with an 8th place finish. Erin Hannah 11th, Sarah Ziemba finished 14th overall, Bethany Dewey 21st, Amy Lanighan 22nd, Kate Bocknewetch 23rd place and Ellen Kagles with a time of 27:19. Nice work girls.
The Varsity Boys also made the award podium finishing 3rd place overall. Cody Burns and Josh Martain lead the way finishing 7th and 8th place in the race. Nick Irr finished 17th, Chas Parker 20th, and James Schuler 33rd

The JV Boys joined the winning tradition with a 3rd placed finish at the meet. Ryan Lovewell was 5th in the JV race and earned a varsity spot for next meet. Gabe Schuler was 8th place, Conner Hastings was 9th, Tim

Kylie Bowman competed at the federation championship. She is the only 3 time qualifier for Newfane in school history. She had a great race finishing 89th out of 300 runners.
26th place individual state finish.
Kylie Bowman competed this past weekend at the state championship in VVS. She finished 26th place overall and was a member of the state championship intersectional championship team. For this she helped her sections (section 6) beat the other sections in the state.
She qualified for the federation meet and will be competing this weekend 11/18 to represent her school in the pinnacle of all hs cross-country running in New York State.
Girls win Class C-2, 2nd in C
The girls team was the winner of the Class C-2 sectional championship. The team was lead by state qualifier Kyile Bowman, and Bella Pasqualle who finished 10th and 12th in the race. Jorydan Center was 17th followed by Hanna Shulz who was 22nd. The girls team had an amazing day and finished 3rd overall in the all class merge making them 3rd in all of WNY regardless of Class size.
Kylie Bowman will be representing Newfane at the NY state championship this coming weeknd.
Boys in 2nd in Class C-2, 4th in C
The boys team was led by Liam Betteridge who finished 21st overall. He was followed by Sean Milczarski and Aidan Gillings who finished 31st and 32 out of 130 runners. This helped the boys team to a 2nd place finish in the class C-2 sectional championship.
Boys win All-League
The boys finished the season with an 11-1 record winning sole possession of 1st place. This is their 6 league championship in 7 years. Liam Betteridge lead the way capturing a 3rd place finish and all league honors. He was followed by Sean Milczarski who was 6th. Zachary Szratter, Aidan Gillings, and Andrew Kimble finished 10, 11, and 13th respectively to earn 2nd team all league honors. This was a great team effort.
Girls win All-League
The girls team finished undefeated winning the league for the 9th year in a row. They also scored 16 points, 1 point away from a perfect score in XC. Kylie Bowman was the league champion for the 4th year. Bella Pasquale was 2nd place overall, followed by Jenna Achtyl, Jordyn Centner and Kayla Hallman who finished 3, 4 & 6 taking girls honors. Hannah Shulz finished 12th earning 2nd team all league. Olive Chunco had a great race and earned honorable mention with a 19th place finish.

The girls team improved to 4-0. Kylie Bowman was the race winner, followed by a strong performance from Hannah Schulz. Bella Pasquale, Jordyn Centner Kayla Hallman, and Jenna Achtyl all finished ahead of the 1st Roy-Hart runner.
Boys vrs RH (20-38 Loss)
Liam Betteridge got his 3rd straight win followed Zach Szratter and Aidan Gillings who finished 3 & 4th overall in the race. The boys team is now 3-1 in the league getting ready to go against Wilson and Medina.
Mcquaid Girls 4th place Small A-1
The girls team finished 4th place overall out of over 50 teams in their race. Kylie Bowman was the lead runner finishing 12th out of 297 runners. Jorydan Centner and Bella Pasquale finished 60th and 61st. Hannah Shultz rounded out the scorers finishing 82nd place.
Mcquaid Boys 20th place Small A-1
The boys team finished 20th out of 60 teams and beat area teams like Akron, Wilson, Roy-Hart, Medina, and Albion. Liam Betteridge finished 37th place i a race out of 290+ runners. He was followed By Aidan Gillings who earned all meet top 100 honors. Andrew Kimble, Zack Szratter, and Jaxson Dembrowski rounded out the scorers.

The girls team got strong wins and improved to 3-0. Bella Pasquale got a race win with a time of 21:49. She was followed by Jordyn Center 3rd, Hannah Schulz 4th, and Kayla Hallman who was 5th in the race.

The boys had a tough meet against defending league champion Barker. Liam Betteridge got his 2nd straight win followed Aidan Gillings who also had a season best time of 18:38. Sean Milczarski was 7th overall for the Panthers.

The girls team got strong wins and improved to 2-0. Additionally they captured their 100th consecutive league win, with the last loss coming in 2014. Kylie Bowman was the race winner followed by
Jordyn Center and Bella Pasquale. Kayla Hallman was the lead middle school runner finishing 5th overall out of 25 runners. She was followed by Sienna Gibson who was 8th.

The boys program got 2 wins starting off with great momentum. Liam Betteridge got a race win followed by Sean Milczarski who was 3rd and Aidan Gillings who finished 4th overall. They were followed by Andrew Kimball and Zachary Szratter.
Girls team 7th VVS Pre-state meet
The boys and girls cross country team competed this weekend at the pre state meet. The Girls team competed team was in a very competitive race and finished as one of the top Class C school in the race. Kylie Bowman was the top female finisher with a top 6 finish out of 150 girls. Jordan Centner followed close behind followed by Bella Pasqualle.
Boys team 9th VVS Pre-state meet
The boys finished as the top team in Niagara Orleans league ahead of Barker. Liam Betteridge was the top runner followed by Aidian Gillins and Zach Szratter.
Girls team 1st Bemus point
The girls team won the small school pre-sectional meet. Kylie Bowman finished 2nd overall in the race. Jenna Achtyl was 13th overall followed by Bella Pasquale 16th, Jordyn Center 23rd, and Hanna Schulz 28th place overall.

38th place individual federation finish.
Kylie Bowman competed at her 2nd federations meet and set a new standard for Newfane XC. The federation meet contains the top runners from the state across all school sizes, public and private. She had an amazing race finishing 38th out of over 275 runners. The highest placement in school history and earning her all federation honors. This is the 1st time school history that a newfane XC runner has accomplished this task.

Kylie Bowman competed at her 3rd state meet at VVS. She finished 11th place overall earning all state honors. Additionally she was a member of the state championship winning Intersectional championship team running as the 4th team member out of 10. Kylie earned herself a trip to the federation championship at Bowdon Park NY.
Boys finish 2nd C-2 , 6th C
The Boys team had a strong team finish with a 2nd place finish in the C-2 division aquaring 2nd team all section honors. The Pack was lead by Aidan Gillings. He was followed by Tyler Braddell and Zachary Szratter. All three had their season best time. Liam Betteridge had a strong bounce back after illness helping the team to the great finish. Daenon Kopp rounded out the top 5 scorers finishing off his senior season as our team leader.
Girls finish 2nd C-2 , 3rd C
The girls team had a strong finish in a very tough division. Kylie Bowman ran lights out finishing 2nd overall in the section earning a trip to the state meet next weekend in VVS. Cat Ersing had a top 12 finish followed by Jordyn Centner, Bella Pasqualle, and Hannah Shultz who rounded out the team scorers. The girls team outstanding effort helped the girls team to a 2nd place finishing in the section C-2 division earning all 2nd team all section team honors. Another amazing season!
Girls win All-league
The girls team Captured their 8th straight league championship at lake side beach state park. Kylie Bowman was the race winner for the 3rd year in a row and earned 1st team all league honors along with Cat Ersing who finished 2nd and Jordyn Centner who finished 4th overall. Bella Pasqualle had a truly gutsy race and earned herself 2nd team all league honors with an 8th place finish. Hannah Schulz also earned 2nd team with a 12th place finish. Sara Siegmann earned league honorable mention coming back off of a recent injury with a 15th place finish. Bryona Wilson was our 7th runner just missing honorable mention by 1 spot in the league. This brings the girls league unbeaten streak up to 98 wins in a row dating back to 2015.
Boys finish 6th
The boys cross-county team ran into a streak of illness on the day of all league having 2 of their top 5 not participate due to illness. Another member of the team had to participate while not feeling well. Other member of the team stepped it up to help the team pull through. Zack Szratter was the top finisher for Newfane and earned himself Honorable mention in the league along with fellow runner Daenon Kopp. They were followed by Andrew Kimball, Aidan Gillings, and Ben McKenzie who rounded out the scorers. The boys team finished the season tied for 4th in the league overall.

The boys and girls team competed in their last duel meet of the season. The boys team had a tough battle with Wilson and Medina. Newfane boys beat Medina 21-37 but lost a close meet to Wilson 29-26. The boys are now 4-2 on the season as they get ready for the all - league meet. Liam Betteridge was the top guy finishing 3rd overall followed by Aidan Gillings who was 4th overall. Tyler Braddell, Daenon Kopp, and Andrew Kimball rounded out the scorers.

The girls team extended their league unbeaten streak to 6-0 on the season and are currently on a 92 win league streak dating back to 2015. Kylie Bowman was the top girl with a time of 19:35. Bella Pasqualle was 2nd, followed by Jordan Centner who was 3rd overall in the race. Hanna Shulz and Cat Ersing Rounded out the scorers.

Liam Betteridge and Aidan Gillings helped with their 2-3 finish in the meet. Ben McKenzie had a break out race finishing 6th place overall in the race and 3rd for Newfane. Tyler Braddell, Daenon Kopp and Zack Szratter rounded out the scores.
Girls vrs Akron (25-32 win)
The girls Cross-Country team improved to 4-0, led By Kylie Bowman, and now is the last undefeated team in the league. Bella Pasquale, Jordyn Centner, and Hanna Schulz finished 3-4-5 in the race. Sienna Gibson, Avery Stevenson, and Bryona Wilson rounded out the scorers for the day.
McQuaid Girls 10th place Small A-1
The Girls team finished 10th place and showed their team depth. Kylie Bowman led the way finishing 8th place overall. This allowed her to finish 32nd overall in the all school merge of over 1400 girls. Bella Pasquale was the 2nd runner for Newfane followed by Sara Siegmann and Jordan Centner.
McQuaid Boys 24th in Small A-1
The boys team had a strong team showing led by Liam Betteridge and Aidan Gillings. They were followed by Tyler Braddell, and Daenon Kopp. Zachary Szratter rounded our the varsity scorers for the day. Newfane beat many local teams including Akron, Medina, and Roy-Hart.

Kylie Bowman got another victory today with a time of 19:40. She was followed by Cat Ersing who finished 2nd place overall. Kylie Bowman got another race win and while breaking the course record at Albion HS in a tri meet with RH. It was a clean sweep with Cat Ersing, Sara Siegmann, Bella Pasquale, Hannah Schulz, and Jordyn Centner all finishing one after another. These wins improves the girls team to 2-0 for the season and extended their league winning streak to 88 wins dating back to 2015
Boys vrs Albion (15-50 win) Vrs RH (23-36 Win)
Aidan Gillings had an amazing finish just getting out leaned for the victor. He was followed by Liam Betteridge who was 3rd, Daenon Kopp who was 4th. Zach Szratter was 4th man finishing 6th overall and Tyler Braddell who was 8th overall in the race out of 30 runners. The boys team is now 2-0 and extended their league winning streak to 62 wins in a row dating back to 2017.

Girls finish 4th
Kylie Bowman start the season out of the gate with a bang. She was the race winner of the pre-state meet with a time of 20:00 minutes. She was followed by Cat Ersing who was 17th earning top 20 accolades. Sara Siegmann was 23rd, and Bella Pasquale and Hannah Schulz rounded out the scorers. The race was a mixed race with all size schools, A, B, C, and D. Newfane finished 4th place out of over 18 schools.

The boys team was led by the pack of Liam Betteridge, Aiden Gillings, and Tyler Braddell finished within a second of each other. Daemon Kopp, and Zach Szratter rounded out the scorers for the boys squad.

Bowman 53rd at Federation meet
Kylie Bowman traveled across the state to the federation cross country meet in Bowdoin park NY. This meet consists of all the best runners form Class A, B, C, and D along with Private and independent schools. She is only the 4th girl and 8th runner from Newfane to qualify for this meet. Kylie had a stand out race finishing 53rd out of over 283 runners in the race. This is the highest finish at the federation meet by a Newfane runner. Her time of 19:50 was only 15 seconds off of qualifying for all federation honors. Great season to her and the other Newfane XC boys and girl runners.
Girls finish 3rd place in state meet Class C
The varsity Girls Cross-Country team returned from the State meet championship at Chenengo Valley with a 3rd place finish in Class C championship. This is their 5th top 4 finish in the last 5 years. Kylie Bowmann earned all state honors with her 11th place state finish. This qualifies her for the federation championship on 11/20 in Bowdoin Park NY. Leah Siegmann finished 23rd in the state while Cat Ersing finished 26th in the state. Maggie Quattrini was 49th in the state, Shelby Nerber 73rd, Bella Pasquale 79th and Sara Siegmann 86th. The girls team ended up 14th place overall as a team in the all class merger combining class A, B, C, and D. Another amazing season for the Lady panthers.
Boys 2nd place Class C-1 and 3rd place class C
The Boys team had a great team effort finishing 2nd overall in the Class C 1 division earning all class honors and sectional shields. Andrew Cuzzacrea led the way for the boys finishing 10th place followed by Conner who was 11th. Austin Burkard was 21st and followed by Nick Arcovio, Gannon Gibson, Alden Gibson, and then Deanon Kopp. This was a great way to end the season.
The girls team wins sectionals
The girls team dominated the meet finishing 1st out of the 30 class C teams, winning by 50 points over 2nd place Eden. This is the 6th sectional championship in a row for the girls team. Kylie Bowman had a stand out performance finishing 3rd place overall in the section running 3.1 miles in 19:09. Cat ersing was 6th, Leah Siegmann was 7th, Maggie Quattrini 10th, Shelby Nerber 13th, Bella Pasquale 14th and Sara Siegmann 23rd. They will be representing Newfane at the State championship on November 13th in Chenango Valley, the site of their 2016 state championship win.
Boys win All-League
The boys finished the season undefeated 12-0 this year capturing their 5the league championship in a row. This has not been done since 1965. Andrew Cuzzacrea finished 2nd place overall, followed by Austin Burkard who finished 5th and Connor Cuzzacrea who finished 7th after taking a fall. All three earned 1st team all-league honors. Nick Arcovio earned 2nd team all league honors while Gannon Gibson, Alden Gibson and Daenon Kopp earned honorable mention.
Girls win All-League
The girls team finished undefeated winning the league for the 7th year in a row. This has never been done in league history. Kylie Bowman was the league champion for the 2nd year. Leah Siegmann was 3rd, Cat Ersing 4th, Maggie Quattrini 5th and Shelby Nerber finished 7th. All of those runners earned 1st team all-league honors. Bella Pasquale, Sara Siegmann, Lucky Ingro and Hayden Kopp earned 2nd team all-league. Niamh Thompson and Avery Stevenson earned all-league honorable mention.

The boys Xc team improved to 6-0 on the season. Conner Cuzzacrea finished 2nd overall, followed by Andrew Cuzzacrea. Austin Burkard was the 3rd runner for the panthers with a 5th place finish. Gannon Gibson 8th place overall, followed by Daenon Kopp.
Girls vrs Wilson (15-44 win) Vrs Akron (15-50 Win)
Kylie Bowman got her 4th win of the season after bouncing back from a wrong turn and remains undefeated so far this year in league meets. Leah Siegmann was the 2nd runner in the race followed by Maggie Quattrini who was 3rd. Cat Ersing was 4th and Sara Siegman was 5th rounding out the scorers.

The boys Xc team improved to 4-0 on the season. Conner Cuzzacrea finished 2nd overall, followed by Andrew Cuzzacrea. Austin Burkard was the 3rd runner for the panthers with a 6th place finish. Alden Gibson and Nick Arcovio rounded out the scorers.

Kylie Bowman got her 3rd win of the season and remains undefeated so far this year in league meets. She finished the race with the 2nd fasts time run by a 10th grade girl on our course. Leah Siegmann was the 2nd runner in the race followed by Maggie Quattrini who was 3rd. Sara Siegman and Shelby Nerber rounded out the scores.
Mcquaid Girls 2nd place Small/Medium schools
The Girls team finished 2nd in one of the closes races of the day. Kylie Bowman lead the way finishing 6th place overall. Leah Siegmann was 14th place and was Maggie Quattrini who was 27th place. She was followed by Cat Ersing and Shelby Nerber was 5th girl and rounded out the scorers.
McQuaid Girls JV 1st place.
The girls JV team dominated the race. Isabella Pasquale was the race winner. Lucy Ingro was 5th place, and Niamh Thompson who finished 7th place.
McQuaid Boys 12th in Small/Medium schools
Andrew Cuzzacrea was the top runner for Newfane with a 24th place finish. He was followed by Connor Cuzzacrea who finished 27th place. Nick Arcovio was the 3rd runner for newfane finishing 104. There was over 300 athletes in the race
McQuaid Boys JV 10th place
Ethan Niver was the top runner coming back off an injury. Ethan was 16th place overall with a time of 20:01. He was followed by Tyler Braddell who ran a time of 21:57.
Boys vrs RH (22-35 win)
The boys team battled out a win vrs RH. Conner Cuzzacrea got the win while setting the new course record of 18:16. Andrew Cuzzacrea finished 3rd place. Alden Gibson was 3rd man for newfane finish 5th place overall. Nick Arcovio and Daenon Kopp rounded out the scorers.
Girls vrs RH (15-50 win)
Kylie Bowman set the course record with a big win and time of 20:16. Maggie Quattrini finished 2nd place overall in the race. Leah Siegmann was 3rd, Sara Siegmann 4th and Hayden Kopp was 5th place overall.
Boys vrs Barker (26-29 win)
The boys pulled out a close win vrs Barker. Alden Gibson had a standout race holding off barker runners to at the 7th spot to seal the win for the panthers. Conner Cuzzacrea was the race winner, and was followed by brother Andrew. Austin Burkard was 6th place while Hayden Kopp finished 10th place to round out the scorers.

Kylie Bowman cruised to the win. She was followed by teammates Leah, Siegmann, Cat Ersing, and Maggie Quattrini. Sara Siegmann rounded out scores with 6th place finish.

The girls team finished 2nd place overall, and 10th place in the all meet merger making them the top C sized school for the day. Kylie Bowman was the top runner for the girls team finishing 3rd place overall with a blazing time of under 20 minutes. She was followed by Leah Siegmann, Cat Ersing, Maggie Quattrini, and Sara Siegmann who all earned top 30 finish awards.
Boys finished 14 The boys were led by Connor Cuzzacrea and Andrew Cuzzacrea . Connor ran under 19 minutes, while andrew was 7 seconds behind. They were followed by Austin Burkard, Gannon Gibson, and Nick Arcovio.

The girls team finished 1st place overall, and the boys team finished 5th. Kylie Bowman was the top runner for the girls team finishing 4th place overall out of 137. She was followed by Leah Sigemann, Cat Ersing, Maggie Quattrini, and Sara Siegmann. They all finished in the top 20 of the race.

Girls win the Section 6 Class C1 race
The girls team got a win becoming the class C1 sectional champions. This is the 5th year in a row they have won the section meet. Kylie Bowman was the individual winner of the race with a time of 19:46. She was followed by Leah Siegmann who finished 3rd place overall. Cat Ersing was 6th place in the race.
Boys finish 3rd place in the C1 Race
The boys team took 3rd place overall in the section C1 race. Nick Baes took 5th place and earned all-section honors. He was followed by Gannon Gibson who finished 11th and Austin Burkard who finished 12th in the section.

The boys team got a win and are crowned undefeated league champions. They have been undefeated in the league for the last 4 years. Nick Baes was the panthers top finisher and earned 1st team all-league with a 4th place finish overall. Andrew and Connor Cuzzacrea also earned 1st team all-league honors. Jayden Reynolds and Austin Burkard earned 2nd team all-league honors. Gannon Gibson and Ethan Niver earned Honorable mention.

The girls got a dominating undefeated win taking their 6th straight league championship. Kylie Bowman was the individual league champ and earned 1st team all-league honors. Leah Siegmann, Taylor Heschke, and Cat Ersing earned 1st team all-league honors. Marina Ersing, Shelby Nerber and Sara Siegmann all earned 2nd team all league honors.

Kylie Bowman was the race winner finishing 1st for her 3rd straight meet. She was followed by Taylor Henschke who finished 3rd overall. Leah Siegmann ran 21:05 for 4th, while Cat Ersing was 5th. Marina Ersing finished 6th place overall.

Nick Baes was the top boy finishing 2nd overall followed by Jayden Reynolds who was one second behind him. Connor Cuzzacrea finish 4th overall in the race.
Girls vrs RH (15-50 win)
The girls cross county team scored a perfect score against RH. Kylie Bowman got an individual race win with a time of 20:00.8. Taylor Heschke finished 2nd and once again improved her time to 20:21. Leah Siegmann finished 3rd place overall, followed by Marina Ersing and Sara Siegamann.

Jayden Reynolds got a race win. He was followed by Austin Burkard who was 3rd Andrew Cuzzacrea & Connor Cuzzacrea finish next.
Girls vrs Barker (15-49 win)
The girls cross county team also got a win and improved their league record to 1-0 with a score of 15-49. Kylie Bowman got an individual race win with a time of 19:57. This is the 2nd fastest time by a 9th grade Newfane runners all time. It was also good enough to tie for the 11th fastest time on our course. Taylor Heschke finished 2nd. She tied for the 24th fastest time by a Newfane runner on our course. Leah Siegmann finished 3rd place overall.
2019
Girls 3rd at States Class C race
An amazing team effort helped the girls team to a 3rd place finish in the state. Kylie Bowman was the lead runner in the icy conditions finishing 29th place in the state. She was followed by Cat Ersing who finished 37th place. Vanessa Burkard and Lydia Chunco came in 40th and 45th place in the state. All of the top 4 girls ran under 19 minutes. Leah Siegmann finished 53 place.
Shelby Nerber was 68th and Marina Ersing was 70th. The girls team had only a 1 minutes split from our 1st to 7th girls putting our 5th, 6th, 7th team in front of most teams 5th.
Girls win the Section 6 Class C race
The Girls team won the section Class C title for the 4th straight year. Lydia Chunco was the lead girl finishing 8th overall. She was Followed by Kylie Bowman who finished 9th place and Vanessa Burkard who finished 10th place. Cat easing finished 11th place. They where followed by Shelby Nerber who was 14th in the section, Marina Ersing who was 15th and Leah Siegmann who finished 16 in the section. The girls score was 42 points. The next closest team score was 83 points behind.
Boys finish 2nd place in the C1 division 4th place overall
The Boys Cross - County Put up a valiant effort in their 4th place finish, and 2nd place C1 finish. Nathan Moran finished 8th place overall. He was followed by Nick Baes and Connor Cuzzacrea who finished 19th and 20th in the race. Andrew was 23rd while Gannon was 27th place
Boys win All-League
The Boys finish the regular season as undefeated league champions. This is their 3rd year in a row winning. Nathan Moran captured a league individual win and was followed by Nick Baes who finished 2nd place overall. Alan lingle finished 5th place overall. This was his 4th year in a row earring 1st team all-league honors. Connor and Andrew Cuzzacrea finished 6 and 7th earning 1st team all-league honors as well. Austin Burkard, Jayden Reynolds and Gannon Gibson earned 2nd team all league honors. The boys team score was 21 points which is the 2nd best score in modern league history for the all-league meet.
Girls win All-League
The Girls finish the regular season undefeated 12-0 in the league capturing their 5th straight league championship extending their league win streak to 62-0 over the last 5 years. Kylie Bowman finished 2nd place overall earning one of the top 25 fastest times ever run on our course. She was followed by Cat Ersing who was 3rd place and Vanessa Burkard who finished 6th place. Lydia Chunco rounded out the 1st team all league members. Shelby Nerber, Leah Siegmann and Lucy Ingro earned 2nd team all league honors. Marina Ersing, Sara Siegmann, and Addie Naylor earned all -league honorable mention.

Kylie Bowman was the lead runner for the girls finishing 2nd place overall, followed by Teammate Lydia Chunco who finished 3rd, Vanessa Burkard 4th, and Cat Ersing 5th place overall to help get the win over Akron and Wilson.
Boys vrs RH (20-43 win)
The Boys Cross- Country team was led by Nick Baes who finished 2nd overall in the race with a time of 17:31. This was the 3rd fastest time ever run by a 11th grader from Newfane. He was followed by Gannon Gibson who was 3rd and ran 3rd fastest time by a 10th grade runner from newfane. Austin Burkard was 4th and Nathan Moran was 5th in the race.

Lydia Chunco got a win on senior night. She ran a time of 19:29 which was good enough for the 3rd fastest time run by a senior. She was followed by Kylie Bowman with a time of 19:44. This was the fastest time ever run by an 8th grade runner from Newfane. Vanessa Burkard was 4th overall and 3rd girl followed by Cat Ersing, Marina Ersing, and Leah Siegamnn.

Mcquaid Girls 1st place seeded race
The Girls team got their first ever seeded race win. Kylie Bowman lead the way finishing 7th place overall earning all meet honors and an individual plaque. Lydia Chunco had a strong race finishing 20th place overall. Vanessa Burkard finished 22 and Cat Ersing finished 24th place. Shelby Nerber rounded out the scorers with a 33 place finish.

The boys team was lead by Nathan Moran who finished 24th with a time of 16:46. He was followed by Nick Baes who ran 17:09 and took 37th place. Andrew Cuzzacrea finished 41st, Connor Cuzzacrea 48th and Alan Lingle 49th place.

They where lead by Gannon gibson who got a 3rd place finish overall in the race and a time of 18:01. Matthew Pussateri was 6th with a time of 18:22.

Kylie Bowman got her first race win running a time of 20:03. This is the fastest time ever run by an 8th grade girl on our course. She was followed by Lydia Chucno who ran a personal best time of 20:21 for 2nd place. Cat Ersing was third in the race while Vanessa Burkard finished 4th overall.
Section 7 Pre-State Girls 4th
The lead runner was Kylie Bowman who ran 20:10 and finished 12th place overall. She helped the girls to a 4th place overall finish and the 2nd place size C school in the race. South Lewis was the top C school and is currently ranked 2nd in the state. Newfane finished only 2 points behind them. Lydia Chunco was the lead high school girl finishing 17th place. She was followed by Vanessa Burkard who was 24th place. Both earned top 25 ribbons. They where followed by Cat and Marina Ersing, Then Shelby Nerber, and Leah Siegmann. Lucy Ingo was 51st out of 200 runners.
Section 7 Pre-State Boys 7th
The Boys team finished 7th and was the top size C school in their race. Alan Lingle was the leader for the boys running 17:45. He was followed by Andrew Cuzzacrea who ran 18:00, Nick Baes at 18:05, Jayden Reynolds at 18:14, then Connor Cuzzacrea 18:22. Gannon Gibson had a strong race finishing with a time of 18:44, while Matthew Pussateri got a time of 19:03.

Girls Varsity - 1st
The Girls team started off the 2019 season with a dominating win at the Pre - Sectional invitation. Kylie Bowman was the lead runner for the girls team finishing 6th place overall in the race with a time of 20:08. She was followed by Lydia Chucno who finished 9th place overall. Cat Ersing was 12th and Vanessa Burkard finished 16th. Leah Siegmann had a very strong race rounding out the scorers with a 26th place finish. There was over 200 runners in the race.
Boys Varsity - 2nd
The Boys team finished 2nd out of 35 teams finishing just one point behind Maplegrove. Nathan Moran was the lead runner for the boys finishing 16th place with a time of 17:18. The Boys pack attack sealed the results with Andrew Cuzzacrea finish 32nd, Nick Baes 34th, Austin Burkard 35th, and Alan Lingle 37th. Connor Cuzzacrea and Jayden Reynolds rounded out the scores with a 45th and 54th place finish.
Boys JV - 2nd
Alan Xu helped lead the boys JV XC team to a 2nd place finish overall. He was 10th and was followed by Nick Arcovio who finished 12th. Phil Stevenson finished 16th, and Trevor Lang 26. Ethan Niver rounded out the scorers with a 29th place finish.
Girls JV - 8th
Lucy Ingro finished 14th place overall and helped lead the JV girls team to an 8th place finish out of over 35 schools. Newfane was the top small school in this race. She was followed by Mallory Schultz and Bridget Martin. Allison Siegmann finished 76th while Madeleine Myers finished 106.
2018
Boys 5th at states Class C race
The Boys team finished 5th place overall in the state in a highly contested meet. The boys were 5th, but only 1 point away from 3rd place in the state. The team was lead by Austin Burkard who finished 21st in the state and was the top 9th grade runner in the race. Robert Stevenson finished 36 place, while Nick Baes and Alan Lingle finished 49th and 50th in the race.
Girls 4th at States Class C race
The Girls team topped off their amazing season with a 4th place finish in the state. Kimberly Goerss finished 6th place overall earning all state honors. Cat Ersing was 50th place overall. She was followed by Vanessa Burkard finishing 66 in the state while Lydia Chunco finished 68th in the state. Marina Ersing finished 85 place to round out scores.
Girls win the Section 6 Class C race
The Girls team won the section Class C title for the 3rd straight year. Kim Goerss was the individual section Champion winning the race of 116 runners. She was Followed by Vanessa Burkard who had a valiant race diving to the finish with a 13th place finish. Lydia Chunco finished closely behind with a 16th place finish. Leah Siegmann, Cat Ersing, Nina Burkard, Marina Ersing rounded out the scorers.
Boys win the Section 6 Class C race
The Boys Cross - County team won its 2nd straight section 6 Class B championship. Austin Burkard had a stellar race and won the individual section championship with a 1st place finish. Nick Baes was 2nd runner finish 12th place overall. Robert Stevenson finished 14th. Alan Lingle and Nathan Moran finished 19th and 20th while Conner and Andrew Cuzzacrea rounded out the scores placing 25th and 26th in the race.
Boys win All-League
The Boys finish the regular season as undefeated league champions. Austin Burkard and Robert Steven Crossed the finish line together to finish 1st and 2nd overall in the league. Alan lingle finished 6th place overall also finish 1st team all-league. Nick Baes finished 8th place 2nd team all-league. Nathan Moran, Conner Cuzzacrea, and Andrew Cuzzacrea also finished 2nd team all-league. Gannon Gibson, Matthew Pusateri, and Alden Gibson all earned honorable mention in the league.

Nina Burkard was 12th and Shelby Nerber was 13th. Marina, Leah, Nina, and Shelby earned 2nd team all-league.

Robert Stevenson was the race winner with a time of 17:08. He was followed by Autin Burkard with a time of 17:09. This time put him as fastest time for a 9th grader on our course. Nick Baes ran as third man finishing 4th overall in the race. He was followed by Alan Lingle. Matt Pusateri and Gannon Gibson crossed the line together 9th and 10th place overall.

Kim Goerss got the course record with a time of 18:52. Vanessa Burkard and Lydia Chunco had awesome races finishing 2nd and 3rd overall. Cat Ersing was 5th. Leah Siegman finished 6th overall while Marina easing was 9th.

Austin Burkard was 3rd in the race and he tied the 2nd fastest time on our course for a 9th grade runner. He was followed Alan Lingle, nick Baes, then Matthew Pusateri. Ben Dickinson set an new 2nd fastest mark for 7th grade boys.

Kim Goerss lead the way finishing 7th out of 159 runners. Lydia Chunco Was 19th place beaking 20 minutes. They were followed by Vanessa Burkard, Leah Siegmann, then Marina Ersing.
McQuaid Boys 2nd place unseeded
Robert Stevenson finishing 20th, and then Austin Burkard 22nd. This race contained 353 runners. Alan Lingle was the 3rd runner for Newfane followed by Nick Baes and then Andrew Cuzzacrea to round out the scorers.
McQuaid JV Boys 1st place
The JV Boys team cleaned house getting a 1st place finish out of 40 complete teams. Connor Cuzzacrea lead the way finishing 2nd overall in the race of 391 runners. He was followed by Jaydon Reynolds, and Nathan Moran Who both finished in the top 10 in the race. Phill Stevenson was had a super star race finishing 23rd overall.

Kim Goerss won the race and ran a time of 20:26. Cat Ersing was 3rd. She was followed by Lydia Chunco who ran a great race. Marina Ersing was 5th place overall.

The Girls brought home a trophy finishing 3rd out of 30 teams. They Also finished as the top C sized team in the race. Kim Goerss was 5th place overall out of a race of 212 runners. Vanessa Burkard, and Lydia Chunco finished at 2nd and 3rd runners having standout races. Cat Ersing and Leah Siegmann rounded out the scores for the lady panther.

The Boys team finished 11th place out of 30 teams. They where the top Class C team in the race. Austin Burkard was the lead runner for the panthers finishing 21st place. Alan Lingle was the 3rd runner followed by Robert Stevenson, Gannon Gibson, then Matt Pusateri.

The Boys were lead by captain Robert Stevenson. He finished 5th place out of 160 runners helping lead his team to a 2nd place finish out of 25 schools. He was followed by Austin Burkard who was 15th, Alan Lingle 19th, Nick Baes, 35th and Matt Pusateri. The boys team was only 4 points away from the win.
Girls 2nd place small schools
The Girls team also took 2nd place out of 25 teams taking 2nd to a school that came to the meet from Ohio. Kim Goerss led the way finishing 3rd place overall out of 139. She was followed by Cat Ersing, Leah Siegmann was 18th place while Vanessa Burkard was 20th, Marina Ersing 26st, and Lydia Chunco 28th place.

Boys 3rd states class C
Samuel Auernhamer lead the way finishing 4th place overall in the state. This is the highest finish of any male runner in Newfane History. Collin Mcabe was the 2nd runner finishing 26th place. He was followed by Alan Lingle who finished 37th, Austin Burkard 51st, Noah Thornton 58th, Robert Stevenson 65th, and Matthew Puesitari 94th. There great race would have finished them 16th place overall in the all class merger at the state meet.
Girls 2nd states class C
Kim Goerss finished 4th place overall leading the team to a 2nd place finish overall in the race earning state honors. Cat Ersing finished 29th place, Lydia Chunco was the 3rd runner finishing 38th. Vanessa Burkard, and Nina Burkard used their strong kicks to finish 45th and 46th in the state. Leah Siegmann and Shelby Nerber both finished in the top 90 of the race. The girls team also held up strong in the all state merger finish 14th place among all classes.
Boys win the Section 6 Class C race
The Boys team got a dominate sectional win with Samuel Auernhamer's first place finish overall with a time of 16:33. Collin McCabe finished 8th place overall in the race. He was followed by Alan Lingle 18th place, then Noah Thornton 19th place. Austin Burkard was 20th. Robert Stevenson next and Matthew Pusateri rounded out scorers with a top 50 finish.
Girls win the Section 6 Class C race
The Girls also dominated their competition. In the most exciting finish of the day Kim Goerss got narrowly beat for the individual title and was the individual runner up. Cat Ersing finished 5th overall with an amazing race. Nina Burkard had an 8th place finish, while Vanessa Burkard and Lydia Chunco finished 12th and 13th.

Collin McCabe finished 2nd in the race while Alan Lingle finished 7th. all-three earned 1st team all-league. Noah Thornton earned 2nd team all-league honors along with Austin Burkard. While Robert Stevenson and Matthew Pusateri earned honorable mention in the league.

The girls also finished undefeated in the league. Kim Goerss was the race winner. She was followed by Nina Burkard who finished 4th, while Vanessa Burkard finished 7th. The girls got win number 4 this season led by Kim Goerss won the race and ran a time of 20:07. She was followed by Lydia Chunco who ran a great race with a time of 21:00. Cat Ersing finished 4th and Vanessa Burkard 5th.
Boys vrs Barker (18-42 win)
Samuel Auernhamer led the way winning the race and running a time of 16:46. He was followed by Collin McCabe who ran a time of 17:32 and took 2nd. Alan Lingle was 4th in the race with a time of 17:58.
Girls vrs Barker (15-46 win)
The girls also got their 3rd win of the season and are the only unbeaten team left in the league. Kim Goerss won the race and ran a time of 20:18. She was followed by Vanessa Burkard 21:05, and Lydia Chunco was 3rd in the race with a time of 21:26
McQuaid Boys 3rd unseeded
The Varsity Boys finished 3rd place overall in the unseeded race. Samuel Auernhamer finished 3rd place overall with a time of 15:53. He was followed by Collin McCabe with a time of 16:33, and Noah Thornton who ran 16:58. Austin Burkard was 4th man on the varsity squad and finished 61 out of 300 runners. He was the top 8th grade runner in the race.
McQuaid Girls 3rd seeded
Kimberly Goerss was top runner for the panthers with a time of 18:56. She was followed Vanessa Burkard who finished 26th place. Cat Ersing was a huge help running as the 3rd girl on varsity. She finished as the top 7th grade runner for the entire day of races. Nina Burkard was 4th. Leah Siegman was also a big contributor running as the 5th girl on the varsity squad.
McQuaid JV Boys 4th
Gannon Gibbson was The JV race winner that had 378 runners in it. His Time was fast enough to have made him top 7 on the boys varsity squad for Newfane. Matt Pussateri finished 5th. Andrew Cuzzacrea 37th, Conner Cuzzacrea finished 43rd, and Alden Gibson finished 48th. Alden was also the top 7th grade runner in the race of 378 runners. This Helped them finish 4th place overall as a team out of 66 teams entered.
Boys vrs Albion (15-50 win) vrs Medina (23-36 win)
The Boys team got 2 wins and is currently 2-0. Samuel Auernhamer was the race winner crossing the line with a time of 17:12. Collin McCabe was 3rd overall and ran 17:33. 5th place finish came from noah Thornton.
Girls vrs Albion (23-32 win) vrs Medina (17-44 win)
The Girls cross country team also got 2 wins and is currently 2-0 in the league. Kimberly Goerss won the race with a time of 20:38. Vanessa Burkard finished 3rd while Lydia Chunco finished 4th place overall. Leah Siegmann was 4th girl She ran a time of 22:45 and passed two girls at the finish to help secure the win.

The boys and girls cross-county team competed at wayne high school. The Race was very competitive race with 30 school in the race. The girls XC team finished 4th place overall, and where the 1st place Class C school in the race. Kim Goerss was the top runner for the girls finishing 14th place, She was followed by Vanessa Burkard who was 26th and Lydia Chunco who was 48thCat Ersing was a big contributor finishing as the 4th girl on the team with a time of 22:50 and a 54th place finish out of 200 girls.
Boys 10th Division II
For the Boys race Samuel Auernhamer was the top newfane runner finishing 16th place. Collin McCabe was 37th place and Noah Thornton finished 44th. Austin Burkard was the lead middle school runner running as the 5th man for the varsity team. He finish with a time of 18:53. The varsity team finished 10th place overall out of 30 school and they where also the top Class C school in the race.

The Girls Where lead by Kim Goerss who finished 6th place overall with a time of 19:58. She was followed by Teammate Vanessa Burkard at 14th place and Lydia Chunco at 16th place.
Boys win Sectional Preview
The boys where lead by Samuel Auernhamer who finished 2nd place overall in the race with a time of 16:40 for 5k. He was followed by Collin McCabe who finished 9th in the race and Noah Thornton who was 14th.

Girls win States in Class C
Newfane Girls Cross-County (CC) team becomes the first ever team champion in Newfane School history winning the state champion ship in Class C at Chenengo Valley park this fall. They complete the championship trifecta joining individual state champions Bri Steel (track & Field) and Ryan Needle (wrestling). The girls CC team won with a great team effort. In CC you want to have the lowest score, similar to golf. The girls from Newfane Scored just 75 points followed by Canton 82, and Bronxville 84 points. The Girls pulled of this win with a great team effort of their top 7 girls. Kimberly Goerss lead the way with a 18th place finish and a time of 19:55. Nina Burkard was 22 with a time of 20:01. Vanessa Burkard 26th with a time of 20:07. Lydia Chunco finished 45th and ran 20:31. Marinia Ersing ran 21:31 and finished 75th place. Caitlin Clack was 87th with a time 21:54. Senior Ally Martin finished 105 and ran a time of 22:29. It was an amazing moment to see the girl the girls accomplish something that has never been done by a Newfane sport team. With Only one Senior we hope to have a few more great performances left for the next couple of years!
Girls win Sectionals in Class C
The boys and girls xc team competed this past weekend at sectionals. The Girls team finished 1st place in the section and are the Class C champs. They earned a trip to the state meet this next weekend in Binghamton NY. Kim Goerss finished 5th place, while Vanessa burked finished 7, and Nina Burkard 9th. Lydia Chucno finished 12th. Marina Ersing finished 17th, Caitlin Clack 20th, and Ally Martin 40th.
Boys finish 2nd in Class C
The Boys finished 2nd in the section just missing the state meet by 11 points. Samuel Auernhamer was the top runner finishing 14th in the section. Tyler Arnett was 15th, Collin McCabe 16th, and Alan Lingle 17th in the section. Robert Stevenson finished 38th while Noah Thornton finished 73rd.
Girls win All-League
The Girls finished the season as undefeated league champs 12-0. Kim Goerss was the race winner followed by Nina Burkard and Vanessa Burkard going 1,2,3 in the race. Lydia Chunco finished 7th. All these girls earned 1st team honors. Caitlin Clack finished 10th place in the race earning 2nd team all-league honors. Marina Ersing was 14th also earning 2nd team honors, while Leah Seigmann finished 21st earning honorable mention

The boys got a win and are now 2-2. Collin McCabe was the lead panther and finished 2nd in the race with a time of 17:51. He was followed by Alan Lingle who finished 3rd with a time of 18:07.

The Girls team got a win and are still undefeated in the league and ranked 5th in the state. Kim Goerss was the race winner with the 2nd fastest time all-time on the course running 19:40. Vanessa And Nina Burkard finished 2nd and 3rd. Lydia Chunco and Caitlin Clack rounded out the scorers.

The Boys had a Challenging battle with Barker. Collin McCabe finished 2nd place overall with a time of 18:25. Alan Lingle was 4th place, while Tyler Arnett finished 7th.
Mcquaid Girls 2nd in seeded race
The Girls team finished 2nd place overall in the seeded race and beat the number 3 ranked team in the state in the process. Kim Goerss led the way with a 6th place finish. Vanessa and Nina Burkard finished 16th and 17th. Lydia Chunco was 31st. while caitlin clack finished 44th.

The lady panthers finished 7th in the race and 30th out of 85 teams. Kim Goerss led the way finishing 11th place in the race out of over 200 runners. Vanessa and Nina Burkard where the next finisher finishing 38 And 39.
Boys Finish 18th
Collin McCabe was the lead runner with a time 18:49 minutes. Robert Stevenson was the 2nd finisher for the panthers, having a break out race with a time of 18:54.

The Girls team won the Small school division. Kim Goerss was the race winner running a time of 19:05. She was followed by Vanessa Burkard who finished 12th place with a time of 20:08. Nina Burkard was 19th with a time of 20:22. Lydia Chunco was the 4th girl with a solid time of 20:42. Caitlin Clack had a great finish out kicking runners to get a time of 21:40. Ally Marting had time of 22:10.
Boys 7th place overall
The Boys finished 7th and Collin McCabe was the lead runner. He finished had a strong race finishing just outside of the top 10. His time was 16:44. Alan lingle was the next runner with a time of 17:10. Robert Stevenson ran a time of 17:44. Matt Griffith was the 5th man.
Modified Boys 2nd
The Modified XC team competed this weekend at East Aurora in a 1.5 mile race. The Boys had a great start to the season finishing 2nd place overall out of 15+ teams. The team was lead by Austin Burkard. He ran 9:17 and finished 7th place overall. Connor and Andrew Cuzzacrea ran 9:56 and 9:59 finishing 19th and 20th. Phill Stevenson and Ryan Nugent had strong races. Tim Birdsall and Patrick Carpenter rounded out the scorers.
Modified girls 7th
The girls had some great performances as well. Shelby Nerber led the team followed very closely by Reagan Luce. They where 23 and 24th place. Bridget Martin was the 3rd girl. She was followed by Kerissa Duxbury and Julia Manzanka.

The Girls team cleaned house. Kim Goerss won the gold race and ran the fastest time for small school girls. Her teammate Nina Burkard was 3rd in race, followed by Vanessa Burkard who was 6th in the race. Lydia Chunco had the 8th fastest time and lead her relay team to a 3rdplace finish. She ran with Caitlin Clack and Ally Martin.

The Girls Blue race also had great team performances. Lauren Boudamen and Lauren Bates team took first place overall with Marina Ersing. The team with Allison Siegman Leah Siegman, and Meliane Meyers took 2nd place overall. Katy Dean, Mary Dixon, and Faith Westgate had their team take 3rd.

Samuel Auernhamer finished 36th place at the state meet with a time of 17:35. He was a member of the section 6 team that won the intersectional meet.
Nina Burkard finished 20th place with a time of 20:16. She earned a state medal. Kim Goerss finished 29th wich was her best state finish so far. She ran a time of 20:38. Vanessa Burkard finished 49th place with a time of 21:23.
Sectionals - Girls 2nd in C/C1
The girls and a strong team performance and finished 2nd in the section. Nina Burkard was the lead runner for the girls finishing 6th. Kim Goerrs finished 7th, and Vanessa Burkard finished 8th. Lydia Chunco finished 14th place and Allie DeBiase Finished 25th place. There was 137 runners in the race. The top 3 runners qualified for the state meet.
Sectionals - Boys 3rd in C1
The boys had a great team effort at sectionals. Samuel Auernhamer finished 7th place qualifying for the state meet. Tyler Arnett was 13th place. Hunter Soles was 49th place, while Alan Lingle finished 54th place. Matt Griffith was 5th man and finished 70th place.

The girls had a great race finishing 1st place in the meet and ending the season with a 14-0 league record. Kim Goerss won the meet with at time of 20:11, Nina Burkard finished 2nd place and was only 3 seconds behind kim. Vanessa Burkard finished 4th place, while Lydia Chunco finished 5th place. Allie DeBiase finished 12th place and earned 2nd team all-league honors.

The girls team was lead Kim Goerss with a 1st place finish in 19:53. The Lady Panthers had a strong front pack who included Nina Burkard, Vanessa Burkard, and Lydia Chunco. The top 4 girls finished 12th place and higher out of 100 girls in the race. Lulu boudeman, Caitlin Clack, and Lauren Auernhamer ran in a tight pack to round out our scoring runners. And all finish under 23 minutes.

The girls team finished 3rd place overall out of the 19 teams. Kim Goerss was the lead runner finishing 13th place overall. She was followed closely by Nina Burkard who finished 16th place. Lydia Chunco was 19 while Vanessa Burkard Was 23rd.

Kim Goerss competed this past weekend at SUNY Canton. She finished 40th place overall, 6 places better then last year. Kims Time was 20:30.4 Excellent work.
Sectionals - Girls 3rd in C1
Kim Goerrs finished 7th place overall and qualified for her 2nd straight state meet. She was followed by Nina Burkard who was 11th place overall and only 2 off of qualifying for the state meet. Lydia Chunco was 21st place and the top 7th grade runner in the race. Allie Debiase finished 32nd having a personal best race. She was followed by Caitlin Clack and Laura Auernhanmer who finished 48th and 49th.

Nina Burkard won the race with a time of 21:09. She recorded the 2nd fastest time run by an 8th grade girl on our course. Kim Goerss finished 3rd and Laura Auernhamer who was top High school runner. She finished 4th place overall with a time of 22:26.1 Lydia Chunco finished 5th place in the race. Lydia's Time of 22:26.4 was good enough for the 3rd fastest time by a 7th grade girl on our course.She was followed by Lauren Seymour who finished 8th place overall.

The boys and girls team competed last night vrs Barker and Albion. For the Girls race Kim Goerss got the win with a time of 20:25. She was followed by Nina Burkard who ran 20:48 and Lydia Chunco who finished 3rd to help get the automatic win. Chunco ran a time of 21:27. Katelyn Dean had a break through race and was the 7th girl qualifying her for a varsity spot finish. Her time was 23:41. She was followed closely by Caitlin Clack who ran 23:49. The Girls team is now 4-0 in league competition and is currently ranked 4th in small schools western new york and 14th in the state for class C.

Samuel Auernhamer won the race with a time of 18:03. He was followed by Nick Nolan who was 2nd with a time of 18:42. He was followed by Adam Nowicki who finished 4th. Charly Johnstone was the lead middle school finisher helping the team. Charly ran 19:19 and 5th place overall.
Sunshine Park West Seneca WestBoys 4thSamuel Auernhamer was the lead runner finishing 19th out of 144 running a time of 17:51. He was followed by Tyler Arnett who 26th running 18:09, then Nick Nolan who ran 18:17. Charley Jhonston was the top 8th grade runner in the race running 18:45. Ethan Morgan and Adam Nowicki both ran under 19:00 finishing 47 and 49.
Girls 6thKim Goerss finished 10th place in the race while Nina Burkard was 32nd and the 2nd 8th grade runner in the race. Lydia Chunco ran 21:38 and finished 35th overall. Ally Martin was the lead high school runner finishing 56th out of 138 with a time of 22:48. She was followed by Laura Auernhamer who was 58th place. Lauren Seymore was 72nd Allie Debiase rounded out the scorers with a 75th place finish.
Oakfield Alabama Dash in the Dark:
Kim Goerss was on a relay team with Ally Martin and Laura Auernhamer that finished 4th overall out of 19 teams. She ran 4th fastest time for small school girls. Nina Burkard ran the 9th fastest time for small school girls, and her relay team with Lauren Seymour and Lydia Chunco finished 6th place overall out of 19 teams. Caitlin Clack and Faith Westgate and Caroline Connolly ran in the Varsity B race. Their relay team finished 4th place overall.
Samuel Auernhamer had one of the top 5 fastest times for the small school boys race, while Adam Nowicki had the 9th fastest. In the Varsity B race Mark Connolly, Anthony Harris, and Matt Griffith finished 3rd out of 15 teams earning team awards.

NYS Federation meet
Kelly Bochnewetch qualified to compete in the Federation meet this past weekend at Bowdin park. This is the highest honor and most competitive race in the state. Only highly elite athletes compete at this level. There was 254 girl runners at the race and Kelly ran a great race finishing 122. overall, running 20:50.7 on a highly challenging course.

Kelly Bochnewetch competed at her 3rd state meet, while Kim Goerss was able to attend her first. Kelly finished 37th place running, while kim finished 46th place with a time of 20:00.2. Great season this year laddies!
Sectionals Girls 5th in C, 3rd in C1
The Boys and girls team both finished 5th out of 20 teams. Kelly Bochnewetch was the individual sectional champion, qualifying for her 3rd state meet. Kim Goerss finished 7th place qualifying for her first state meet

The Boys had a great team effort. Ethan morgan lead the way finishing 24th place in the section running 18:29. Samuel Auernhamer was the top 8th grade finisher in the section race finishing 31st. Nick Nolan finished 38th, while Coddie Liddell finished 39th. Tyler Arnett was the 5th man and placed 43rd running 19:01.

The Boys finished 12-2 this year in the league. Samuel Auernhamer lead the way finishing 13th earning 2nd league honors. Ethan Morgan finished 15th and Codie Liddell 18th. They both earned honorable mention.

The Boys team is now 6-1 for the season. Ethan Morgan was the race winner. He ran 19:14. Samuel Auernhamer was 2nd place overall in the race. Nick Nolan was 5th place in the race with a time of 19:48. Codie Liddell was 7th place and Andy Gelyon rounded out the scorers with a 10th place finish.
Girls vrs Albion (22-37 win) vrs CSAT (15-49 win)
The Girls team was lead by Kelly Bochnewetch with a time of 21:40. Kim Goerss was 2nd place overall in the race with a time of 23:05. Lizzy bassler was 5th while Luara Auernhamer was 6th. Jordan LaFever was the final scorer for Newfane with a 10th place finish.
Boys vrs Akron (26-29 win) vrs Medina (24-32 win)
The Boys team beat undefeated Akron last night and handed them their first loss of the season. This improves Newfane's record to 4-1. Ethan Morgan was the lead runner for newfane finishing 2nd place overall in the race last night. Cyrus Simmons was the second runner for newfane, out kicking his opponent for 6th place overall. Codie Liddell, and Nick Nolan rounded out the Newfane Scorers.
Girls vrs Akron (20-38 loss) vrs Medina (15-50 win)
The girls cross country team got their 1st loss of the season and only their 4th league loss in 6 years in a tough match vrs Akron. Kelly Bochnewetch was the race winner and is still undefeated in the league this year. Kim Goerss was the 2nd runner for the panthers finishing 6ht place overall. Laura Auernhamer, Lizzy Bassler and Kate Bochnewetch rounded out the scorers.
Boys vrs Wilson (20-41win)
The boys team improved their record to 2-1. Ethan Morgan was the lead runner for the panthers getting his first league win with a time of 18:18. Samuel Auernhamer finished 3rd place overall and ran a time of 19:07. Codie Liddell was the 3rd runner for the panthers. He ran a time of 19:16 and was followed closely by Cyrus Simmons who ran 19:20. Deven Dumais ran 21:14 and he set the new course record for 7th grade runners on our home course.

The Girls improved their record to 3-0 with the win over Wilson. Kelly Bochnewetch was the lead runner winning the race with a time of 19:42. She was followed by Kim Goerss who finished 2nd overall. She ran a time of 21:52 and set the new 7th grade course record for girls. Kate Bochnewetch was 4th overall and Auernhamer was 5th place

The girls ran in the Small school Seeded race. Kelly Bochnewetch was the top runner for the lady panthers. She finished 13th place out of over 200 runners. Kim Goerss was next and finished 78th. Laura Auernhamer was the 2nd high school runner to finish for the panthers. She finished 85th place overall, and was followed closely by Kate Bochnewetch who finished 89th.
Boys
The Boys team was lead By Ethan Morgan. He finished 32nd place in the boys race. Samuel Auernhamer was the 2nd runner for Newfane. He ran 17:45. Codie Liddell was the next. He finished 89th place overall out of over 250 runners.
The JV Boys team also ran well and was lead by Jericho Adams. Jericho finished 52nd place overall. Tyler Simmons was the 2nd place finisher for JV Squad.
Boys vs RH: (18-38 win ) vs Barker: (43-18 loss)
The boys split the contest 1-1 with Ethan Morgan taking 3rd place and running the 3rd fastest time for an 10th grader newfane runner on our home course. Samuel Auernhamer was 2nd runner for newfane. He had the 2nd fastest time for an 8th grade runner in course history. He was followed by Codie Liddell who finished 9th place overall with a time of 18:51. Hunter Soles and Andy Gelyon rounded out the scorers for the Panthers. Deven Dumais ran 21:28 and set the new record for 7th grade boys.
Girls vs Barker: (20-38 win ) vs RH: (19-40 win)
The girls team ended the night 2-0. Kelly Bochnewetch was the winner and she set a new 12th grade home course record with 19:48. Kate Bochnewetch finished 2nd in the race and ran the 3rd fastest time on our course for a senior with a time of 21:15. Kim Goerss finished 4th place overall and set the new record for 7th grade girls on the newfane course. Laura Auernhamer was 5th place with a strong race. She was followed by Demi Eadie who finished 8th place.

The Girls team finished 3rd place and was lead by Kelly Bochnewetch who won the race with a time of 19:10 for 3 miles. Kim Goerss was 2nd with a 12th place finish. Laura Auernhamer finished 25th place while Ally Martin finished 27th place out of 70 runners.
The boys team finished tied for 6th place out of 12 but was only a few points from taking 3rd place. Ethan Morgan Lead the way with his 7th place finish. Samuel Auernhamer was 24th place. Cyrus Simmons was 25th place, While Codie Liddell finished 26th out of over 70 runners.
Oakfield Alabama Dash in the Dark:
The girls and boys teams both finished 5th place out of 22 teams. The lead runners for the girls team was Kelly, Bochnewetch 12:43, Kate Bochnewetch13:55, and Lizzy Bassler 14:24. Ally Martin also ran a fast time, running the two mile course in 14:17.
Ethan Morgan, Nick Nolan, and Codie Liddel lead the boys team. Eathan had the 8th fastest time for small school boys. He ran 11:09. Nick had a time of 11:32, while Codie ran 12:09. Samuel Aurnhamer also ran a 12:09.

Kelly Bochnewetch 16th Class C at the State meet
Kelly Bochnewetch competed this past weekend in the Cross-Country State meet held at Elma Meadows golf course. She ran an amazing gutsy race finishing 16th overall in the state and earning state team honors. Kelly ran the course in 19:36. Over 30 seconds faster the her previous time on the course. She Finished as the top runner from section six in the Class C race.
Girls finish 5th in Class C, 3rd in C 1
Kelly Bochnewetch helped lead the girls team to a 3rd place finish in Class C. She ran 20:07 and finished 2nd place overall in the race to qualify for her 2nd state meet. She will be competing this saturday at Elma Medows. She was followed by Demi Eadie who finished 30th place overall. Lizzy Basslers was 35th place and laura Auernhamer finished 37th. Allie Debiase rounded out the scorers finishing 48th.
Boys finish 9th in Class C, 3rd in C 1
The boys team finished 3rd place in class C1 and was lead by Ethan Morgan who finished 26th place overall. Dan Gifford finished 31st and ran a time of 19:11. Nate Martin was 44th, Cyrus Simmons and Codie Liddell all finished top 50 in the section.

Kelly Bochnewetch was the race winner for the girls earning first team all-leauge honors. She won by over 40 seconds. Demi Eadie was 15th place, Laura Aurnhamer finished 18th and Lizzy Bassler 19th. All 3 earning honorable league mention. The girls team ended the season with a 12-2 league record.

The boys where lead by Ethan Morgan. Ethan finished 21st place earning honorable mention for league honors. Ethan was also the top 9th grade runner in the race. Cyrus Simmons was 25th and was the 2nd 9th grader in the league across the line. Dan Gifford was 3rd man and 31st place. Drew Hamelink was the top 8th grade runner in the race.

Kelly Bochnewetch led the girls two a double win and set the New course record of 19:16. She is currently undefeated and the girls team improved their record two 6-1. Lizzy Bassler finished 3rd place overall and she was followed by Demi Eadie who was 4th and then Laura Auranhammer who was 7th place with a time of 23:08. Allie Debiase rounded out the scorers.

Kelly Bochnewetch had an amazing race finishing 9th place overall in the seeded race earning an elite runner patch. Kelly was followed by Demi Eadie who finished just over 107th place and Lizzy Bassler who was 109. Lauran Bates was 173 and Megan Payne was 176th place.
Boys
The boys had strong finishes by Ethan Morgan who ran 17:30 and got 51st place and Cyrus Simmons who was 17:33 and got 56 place. Dan Gifford was the 3rd man across the line with a time of 18:05. That was good for a top 100 finish. Codie Liddell and Zach Anderson rounded out the scorers.
Boys vs RH: (Win 20-39)
For the boys Ethan morgan lead the panthers in the race and had a 2nd place finish. The boys finished 2-6 giving them a land slide win. Ethan was was followed by Cyrus Simmons who was 3rd and then Dan Gifford 4th, Cody Lidell, then Zach Anderson.
Girls vs RH: (Win 17-38)
The girls team also had a land slide victory with a score of 17-38. Kelly Bochnewetch won the race with a time of 20:23. She was followed by sister Kate who was 2nd then by Lizzy Bassler who was 3rd place overall. Middle school runner Demi Eadie was 4th place.

The boys and girls team competed this weekend at East Aurora Invite. The boys team place 4th out of 16 school. The team was lead by Nate Martin who finished 17th place overall. He was followed by Cyrus Simmons who finished 19th and Ethan Morgan who was 20th out of over 100 runners.
The Girls team took 6th place and was lead by Kelly Bochnewetch. Kelly finished 7th place overall. Kate Bochnewetch was the 2nd runner for Newfane and finished 26th place. Lizzy Bassler was the 3rd place girl for the panthers and she finished 37 out of the 100 runners in the race.
Oakfield Alabama Dash in the Dark:
The boys and girls XC Team competed this Friday night at Oakfiled Alabama invite The meet was a relay style race and took place at night under the lights with the last race ending at 10:pm. Dance music was playing as the runners dashed around 2 miles around the campus. Both the girls and boys teams both had strong showings.
The Varsity A team was lead by Kelly Bochnewetch who ran a 12:41, followed by Kate Bochnewetch and Lizzy Bassler who also broke 14 min for 2 miles. Becca Lafever was the 4th Newfane Girl followed by Demi Eadie as the 5th girl.
The boys team had a huge improvement from last year. The Varsity boys team had solid performance from the top runners. Ethan morgan finished his two mile course in 11:15, followed by a great gutsy race from Nate Martin. Cyrus Simmons had his first race of his career and it was a great one finishing under 12 minutes as our 3rd man. Zack Anderson, was the 4th man and was followed by Joe Gelyon and Cody Liddell who both had great first races and have room for improvement!

Sarah Ziemba participated in her 3rd consecutive state meet. She had her best individual state finish ending up at 45th state. Sarah was a great competitor, and even better teammate. She will be missed and we wish her luck in Arizona
Girls win All-League
The boys and girls cross country team competed This week at the All-League meet. The Girls captured their 4th straight league championship in a row and their 14th in the 30 year history of the program. Sarah Ziemba was the league champ winning the race for the 2nd year. She set the 16th fastest time ever run on the course. She was first team All-league. Kelly Bochnewetch was 5th and also first team. Kate Bochnewetch earned 2nd team all league honors. Becca Lafever earned honorable mention. Demi Eadie was the lead girl runner in the middle school. She finished 26th and her fastest time of the year with 23:06

The boys had some bad fortune and got riddled with the injury bug the week before the race. Josh Martin Was the lead runner finishing 26th overall. Darius Matalavage was 2nd on the team followed by Gabe Schuler. Ethan Morgan was the lead middle school runner.

The boys split between RH and Medina. The boys ran a great team race getting edged out only by one point against RH. Darius Matalavage ran a strong race finishing 4th place overall. He was Chas Parker was the number 2 guy finishing 6th place overall.

The girls remained undefeated with both wins over RH and Medina. Sarah Zeimba set a new course record while winning the race with a time of 20:04. She was followed by Kelly Bocknewetch. Who finished 3rd.
JV Girls finish 3rd at Alden
The Boys and Girls Cross-Country team competed this weekend at Alden Invite. It was a amazing race that included wind, ran, and hail.
Darius Matalavage was the lead runner for the panthers. He finished 34th. Gabe Schuler was the number two man. He finished 55th in the race.
In the Girls varsity race, Sarah Ziemba was the winner of a bizarre race finish. Kelly Bochnewetch finished 6th overall.
The JV girls finished 3rd place overall, Laura Aurnhemer was the lead runner finishing 8th overall. Demi Eadie finished 11th. The lead Highschool runner was Baily Koithen.

Last night Newfane’s boys and girls cross country teams went up against both Wilson and Albion. The girls crushed their opponents, who were the only other undefeated teams in the league. Sarah Ziemba won the race in 19:34 while Kelly Bochnewetch came in 3rd place with a hard finish and a time of 20:19. Good effort by Kiki Dy, 5th, and Kate Bochnewetch, 6th. Megan Eldridge, Megan Payne rounded out the scorers.

The Boys team beat Wilson and lost to Albion. Darius Matlavage had an impressive finish and came in 1st with a time of 17:34. Chaz Parker pushed through his injury and placed 7th. Josh Martin, 12th, and Gabe Schueler, 13th , also had good races. Jarret Hutchinson finished with his best time, 20:08. Great job to all! Our next race is Saturday at the Alden Invite.

The Boys team lost close races to both Akron and Barker. Darius Matalavage was the lead runner for the Panthers. Darius ran 18:04 over the 3 mile course. Josh martin finished 17th and was the 4th runner for Newfane. 8th grade runner Ethan Morgan ran a strong race and finished as Newfane's 5th runner.

The Newfane Cross-country team competed in the McQuaid invitational this weekend. There was over 6000 thousand runner at the meet and 200 in the races. The girls team competed in the elite seeded race finishing 5th out of over 20 schools. Sarah Ziemba lead the the way finishing 11th overall. She was followed Kelly Bochnewetch finished 23rd place. Kate Bochnewetch who was 36h place and Kiki Dy who was 38th place. Becca LaFeaver rounded out the scorers with a 72nd place.

Chas parker lead the boys team to a 7th place finish in their race. Darius Matalavage finished two spots behind with a 26th place finish. Nate Martin was the 3rd runner finishing 52nd place. Josh Martin was 102 and Gabe Schuler finished 106. Alex Rosenbaum and Brandon Winchell both ran strong races to improve their times.

The girls team got another win and are now 1-0. Sarah Ziemba was the race winner with a time of 19:42. This is a new course record. She lead the Panthers to a 18-45 win. Kate Bochnewetch was the 2nd place finisher in the meet. Becca LaFeaver was 4th Demi Eadie set the new record for fastest time run by a 7th grade girl from newfane on our course. She finished 6th overall. Lauren Bates had the 2nd fastest time run by a 7th grade runner.

The boys are now 1-0. Darius Matalavage helped lead the boys to there great finish by placing first overall in the meet with a time of 18:10. He was followed by Chas Parker who was just a few seconds behind. 3rd place finisher was Nate Martin. Ethan Morgan ran strong for an 8th grade runner and got the 2nd fastest time by an 8th grader runner on our course.

The boys and girls cross-Country team Competed this weekend at East Aurora. The Girls team once again grinded out another victory, continuing the their Unbeaten streak for the season. There was many great performances. Sarah Ziemba lead the pack with a second place finish in the meet of over 100 runners. Kelly Bochnewetch Also had a strong finish with a 4th place finish. Kate bochnewetch finished 9th followed by Kiki Dy with a 10th place finish earning top 10 T – Shirt.
The boys also ran good with some surprising performances. Chas Parker Lead the way, followed Darious Matalavage who was 2 seconds behind. Nate martin was the 3rd runner. All three ran under 18:00 minutes. He was followed by josh martin who was the 4th runner with a time of 19:10 then Gabe Schuler.

The boys team had a great first performance by Darius Matalavage. He ran his 2 mile race in 11:42. Chas Parker Ran 11:40 for 2 miles. Josh Martin was 3rd Man with a time of 12:29. Gabe Schuler was the 4th runner. Zack Anderson, and Alex Rosenbam broke into the varsity squad with strong races.

Section VI Championships:
The Girls' Team finished 2nd in the Class B Championships. This is their 2nd year finishing behind East Aurora. Sarah Ziemba led the way finishing 7th overall. Sarah qualified for the NYS Championships next Saturday at Lakeside Park in Pawling NY. Erin Hannah finished in 15th place with Kelly Bochnewetch following in 16th, Kate Bochnewetch was 17th, Becca Lafever finished 20th, Kiki Dy 22nd and Katie Krull 33rd.
The boys finished in 9th place. Nate Martin led the team in 45th place, followed by Gabe Schuler in 52nd place, Chas Parker was 54th and Paul Roberts was 57th overall.
Niagara Orleans League Championships:
The girls tied the All-League Meet lowest score record with a team score of 23. This was done by having 4 of the 5 tops in the race. Sarah Ziemba was 1st, followed by Kiki Dy in 2nd with Kelly Bochnewetch in 3rd place and Erin Hannah finishing in 5th place. Kate Bochnewetchwas 12th and Becca Lafever finished in 13th place in the race.
The Girls' Team finished undefeated with a 14-0 league record on the way to their 3rd straight championship.Earning 1st Team All-League honors were Sarah Ziemba, Kiki Dy, Kelly Bochnewetch and Erin Hannah. Kate Bochnewetch and Becca Lafever earned 2nd Team All-League status.
The Boys' team finished in 6th place at the league meet. Newfane was led by Nate Martin who finished earning Honorable Mention All-League.

Kiki Dy was the race winner with a time of 20:55. She had the 4th fastest time ever on our home course. Kelly Bochnewetch was 3rd and had the 7th fastest time run on our home course. Sarah Ziemba was 4th with a 21:24. She had the 7th fastest time run on our home course. Erin Hannah was 6th with a time of 21:28. Becca LaFever rounded out the scorers with her 7th place finish.
Boys vs Albion: (Loss 40-19) & vs Medina (Win 22-38)The boys had a split, beating Medina and losing against Albion. Chas Parker was the leader for the boys finishing 2nd overall with a 17:55. He tied for the 9th fastest time run on the home course by a boy. Nate Martin
was 8th in the race and ran a 19:07. He was followed by Josh Martin, Paul Roberts, Gabe Schuler, and Ryan Lovewell who all ran 19:37 -19:49.
Girls vs Wilson: (Win 19-40) & vs Akron: (Win 20-41)The Girls team got a win vs both teams staying undefeated for the season. Sarah Ziemba led the way finishing 2ndoverall and running a 21:04. Teammate Erin Hannah came in 4th and was the 2nd Newfane runner. She was followed by Kelly Bochnewetch, Kiki Dy and Becca Lafeaver. Amy Lanighan and Katie Krull rounded out the scorers.
Boys vs Wilson (Loss 34-21) & vs Akron (Win 24-35)
The Boys team also got a win Vrs Akron. Chas Parker lead the way finishing 4th overall with a time of 18:28. The tandem of Nate and Josh Martin came in 6th and 7th both with great races and finishing under 19:00. Ryan Lovewell, Paul Roberts, Nick Kazuba, and Gabe Schuler rounded out the scorers.
McQuaid Invitational: Girls - 1st Place; Boys - 14th PlaceThe girls and boys cross-country team competed this weekend at McQuaid Invitational in Rochester. The Girls team finished 1st overall in their race. The race had over 240 runners. Sarah Ziemba ran 19:15 and finished 15th place. Kiki Dy ran 19:15 to finish 21st. Kelly Bochnewetch was 22nd and ran 19:17. Erin Hannah was 48th with a time of 20:16. Becca LaFever was 65th place and ran a 20:42.
In the JV race Lizzy Bassler finished as the top girl and ran a 22:40.
The Boys team was led by Chas Parker. He was 31st place and ran a 17:45. Nate Martin was 67th place and ran a 18:20. Josh Martin, Gabe Schuler, and Paul Roberts rounded out the scorers.
Girls vs Barker: (Win 19-36) & vs RoyHart: (W 15-46):Sarah Ziemba lead the way finishing 1st overall in the race with a time of 21:12. She was followed closely by teamates Kiki Dy 2nd, and Kelly Bochnewetch who was 3rd. Erin Hannah finished 5th overall in the race. Becca LaFever rounded out the scorers finishing 8th overall.
Boys vs Barker: (Loss 46-16) & vs RoyHart: (L 30-25):Chas Parker was the lead runner for Newfane. He was 7th overall and ran a time of 18:51 Nate Martin was the 2nd runner, coming in 8th place running a time of 19:43.
Beaver Island State Park: Girls - 1st Place, Boys - 3rd Place:The girls finished 1st place overall out of the 20 schools. The teams were broken up into 4 races.
In Race One, Kiki Dy ran 20:15 and Sarah Ziemba ran 20:36 finishing 3rd and 4th overal.
Race Two was won by Kelly Bochnewetch who ran a 20:51. Erin Hannah was 3rd finishing with a 21.33.
In Race Three, Becca Lafever finished 2nd overall with a time of 22:50. Amy Lanighan was 4th overall.
In Race Four, Katie Krull finished 7th, Megan Payne was 21st, Bailey Koithan was 41st and Jordan Lafever was 47th.
The Boys team finished 3rd overall with the same race format.
In Race One, Chas Parker finished 19th overall running 18:25 and Nate Marin was 27th with a time of 18:59.
Gabe Schuler finished 27th and Nick Kaszuba was 28th in the 2nd Race.
The Third Race had Paul Roberts finishing 29th, Ryan Lovewell 31st and Alex Rosenbaum 35th.
Byron Bergen Invitational: Girls - 1st Place, Boys - 3rd Place, JV Girls 1st Place.The Girls team won the invite for the 3rd time in a row. Kiki Dy won the race with a time of 19:05. Kelly Bochnewetch was 2nd overall 19:59; closely followed by Kate Bochnewetch who was 5th with a 20:45 and Erin Hannah who was 10th. Becca LaFever finished 19th and Katie Krull rounded out the scorers with a 30th place finish.
The Boys team finished 3rd place at Byron Bergen for the 2nd straight year. Chas Parker lead the way finishing 6th with a time of 17:55. Josh Martin was 2nd for the team with a time of 18:40. Nate Martin finished 22nd in the race. Gabe Schuler finished the race in 35th place, Nick Kazuba was 46th. Paul Roberts and Jared Vanderbeck rounded out the scorers in 50th and 60th place.
The Girls JV team also took first place. Bri Gross won the race with a time of 24:35, Lizzy Bassler was 2nd in the race with a time of 24:36. Megan Payne finished 3rd place overall. Jordan LaFever finished 7th and Bailey Koithan was 8th.
Alex Rosenbaum was the lone runner in the boys JV race. He finished 8th place with a time of 22:20
2009 Results!
NYS Cross Country Championships at SUNY Plattsburg
Kelly Bochnewetch and Sarah Ziemba competed this past weekend at the New York State Cross Ccountry meet in Plastburg New York. The course was wet and muddy but that didn’t stop the Lady Panther runners from performing well. Sarah Ziemba led the way finishing 58th place in the state and running her fastest time of the season, 20:04. Kelly Bochnewetch finished 106 with a time of 22:08. This is a great accomplishment for these two athletes.
The officials posted the Section VI State Qualifiers merged results for Class AA, A, B, C, D combined. Our Girls Cross Country Team would have been 4th out of the 45+ school in Section VI, missing second place by only 3 points. This is an amazing accomplishment our Newfane Cross Country program. Our Boys Cross Country Team finished 14th out of 54 teams in the merged results. Congratulations to all the team members for their hard work and dedication to their sport during the season and the off season!
Section VI Championships: Girls-2nd Place, Boys-3rd Place:The girls added a 2nd place finish in Section VI Champions to their League Championship, with an outstanding team effort. Kelly Bochnewetch was 9th place and qualified for the state meet with a time of 20:27. She will also
be joined at the state meet with Sarah Ziemba who finished 10th place with a time of 20:28. Rachel Parker finished off an excellent career with a 14th place finish and a time of 21:05. Kiki Dy was 16th, followed by Erin
Hannah who was 17th and Kate Bochnewetch who was 18th place with a time of 21:40. Bethany Dewey was 27th and ran 22:38.
Boys finish up the season in 3rd place in the Section behind Alden and Champions East Auroa. Nick Irr was 13th place overall with a time of 18:13. Cody Burns was 14th place and ran 18:15. Josh Martin was 25th place with a time of 18:45. Chas Parker was 30th and ran a time of 18:59. James Schluer 40th place with a time of 19:21.

Niagara-Orleans All-League Championships: Girls-1st Place: The girls team finished the season undefeated with a 12-0 record this year and are League Champions for the 2nd straight year. They performed so well at the league meet that if the rest of the league was one team, Newfane
still would have won. Six of the first 9 runners in the race were from Newfane.
Sarah Ziemba placed 2nd in the race; she was only 3 seconds off the winner. KiKi Dy was 4th place, Rachel Parker was 5th place, Kelly Bochnewetch was 6th place and Erin Hanna finished in 7th place. Sarah, KiKi, Rachel, Kelly & Erin all earned 1st Team All-League honors.
Kate Bochnewetch was 9th place and earned 2nd team all-league honors. Bethany Dewey Finished 16th place and earned Honorable mention. Amy Lanighan was 22nd place and Ellen Kagles was 44th place. The girls team has a combined league record of 37-3 over the span of the last three years. Amazing job girls.
Niagara-Orleans All-League Championships: Boys-2nd Place: The Boys team finished the season 2nd place in the league with a record of 12-2. Their only losses of the season was to Barker who was 2nd in the state last year. Cody Burns finished in 11th place, Nick Irr was 12th, Josh Martin was 14th. Cody, Nick & Josh earned 2nd team All League honors. Chas Parker was 17th earning honorable mention. James Schuler finished 26th, Gabe Schuler was 39th and Ryan Lovewell was 41st and rounded out the Varsity team.
Clarence Invitational: Girls-3rd Place, Boys-4th Place:
Newfane Girls team finished in 3rd place in the small school division with 83 points behind Starpoint 69 points and Amherst 58 points. The 8th grade Newfane girls stole the show with Ki Ki Dy finishing 12th with a time of 22:09 on the sloppy and muddy course. Kelly Bochnewetch was 13th with a time of 22:17. 14th place went to Sarah Ziemba ran 22:20. Next was Kate Bochnewetch who was 21st and ran 23:01. Erin Hannah the lone upper
classman (11th) was 25th place and ran 23:10. Senior Rachel Parker and Bethany Dewey had the day off due to ACT testing.
Newfane's Boys team finished 4th place with 127 points with Wayne HS from Section 5 winning with 22 points. Nick Irr led the way for the Panthers with a 9th place finish and a time of 18:52. Josh Martin was 16th and ran
19:20. Chas Parker was 30th and James Schuler 35th.
Boys Newfane (27) vs Albion (28):
Boys won a close meet with a score of Newfane 27 - Albion 28. With this win the Boys team moves to 5 wins 1 loss in the league. James Schuler stole the show out kicking Albion's number 4 runner to help win the meet.
James Schuler was 7th place and ran 18:15. Nick Irr was the top finisher for Newfane, he was 2nd and ran 17:17. 3rd was Cody Burns in 17:24. He was followed by Josh Martin who ran 18:12. Chas Parker rounded out the scorers with a 9th place finish.
Girls Newfane (19) vs Albion (40):
The girls team remained undefeated beating Albion 19 to 40. Rachel Parker won the meet with a time of 19:33.5. 2nd was Kelly Bochnewetch who ran 20:31. Erin Hannah had another solid performance finishing 3rd and running 20:38. 6th place was Sarah Ziemba followed by Ki Ki Dy who was 7th and ran 21:33. Kate Bochnewetch was 9th overall and finished with Bethany Dewey. Amy Lanighan rounded out the Varsity team beating Albion's 4th girl.

The Girls team continued it's unbeaten streak improving to 5-0. Rachel Parker was the overall winner running 20:14 and setting a new senior course record at Newfane. Sarah Ziemba Was 2nd and set a new Newfane 8th
Grade record with a time of 20:57. Erin Hannah had another out standing race and finished 4th place overall. Erin ran 21:15. Kelly Bochnewetch was 5th and ran 21:50 and was followed by Ki Ki Dy who ran 21:54. Bethany
Dewey was 7th followed by Amy Lanighan who was 10th. The race had over 20 competitors.
Boys Newfane (16) vs Medina (45) & CSAT (45):The boys team improved to 3-1 beating Medina and CSAT. Cody Burns was the race winner running 18:06. Josh Marting was 2nd with a time of 18:33. Nick Irr was 3rd breaking 19:00. James Schuler was 4th overall and Ryan Lovewell rounded out the varsity scoring team.
Girls Newfane (15) vs CSAT (44):
The girls team improved to 3-0 beating CSAT with a score of 15-44. Kelly Bochnewetch was the race winner and set a new 8th grade course record running 21;56. Erin Hannah was 2nd and ran 22:00, she was followed by Bethany Dewey in a time of 22:07. Rachel Parker jogged easily to a 4th place finish. Amy Lanighan was 5th with a time of 23:14 and Ellen Kagels finished 7th overall.
McQuaid Invitational: Girls-6th Place, Boys-3rd Place
The girls finished 6th our of 28 teams in small schools unseeded at McQuaid this weekend. Last year the girls finished 11th. Kelly Bochnewetch finished 25th in a time of 20:15, followed by Erin Hannah was 40th in 20:41 nipping out Sarah Ziemba (41st) in 20:43, Bethany Dewey finished 62nd in 21:28, Kate Bochnewetch finished #114 in 22:37 and Amy Lanighan finished 121st in 22:43.
The boys finished 3rd out of 36 teams in small schools unseeded at McQuaid. Last year they finished 13th. Leading the team was Cody Burns (17th) in 17:08, Nick Irr (32nd) in 17:28, Josh Martin (34th) in 17:30, Chas Parker (72nd) in 18:23, James Schuler (73rd) in 18:24, Ryan Lovewell (139th) in 19:16 and Gabe Schuler (153rd) in 19:34.
Boys Newfane (18) vs Akron (45) & Newfane (39) vs Barker (20)
The Barker boys team was 2nd in NYS last year. Newfane gave them a good race, but came up a tad short. Nick Irr was the first boy taking 2nd overall out of 42 runners. Nick ran 17:50; followed closely by Cody Burns finishing 5th in 18:08. Josh Marting was 10th and ran 18:48. Chas Parker was 11th and James Schuler was 13th place overall. The boys team is now 1-1.
Girls Newfane (20) vs Akron (41) & Newfane (20) vs Barker (38):
The defending League Champs are now 2-0 and still undefeated. Sarah Ziemba was the lead girl from Newfane with a time of 21:32, Erin Hannah finished 3rd in 21:34, Kelly Bochnewetch was 4th in 21:36, Kate Bochnewetch was 7th in 22:09 followed by Bethany Dewey in 22;31. Kiki Dy was 11th. Rachel Parker was taking it easy and jogged her way to a 13th place finish. Amy Lanighan was 15th overall and Ellen Kagels was 25th.
East Aurora Invitational: Girls-7th Place, Boys-5th PlaceThe girls finished 7th out of 20 teams. Kelli Bocknewetch led the Varsity team witha 24th place finish. Kiki Dy finished 41st overall. Erin Hannah was 1 second behind and finished 42nd. Kate Bocknewetch was 56th place, Bethany Dewey finished 57th, Sarah Ziemba was 73rd, and Amy Lanighan was 85th. The race consisted of 140 runners. The boys team took 5th place out of 24 schools. Cody Burns was the lead runner finishing in 19th out of 168 runners. Nick Irr finished 26th and was 12 seconds behind Cody with a time of 17:15 for the 3-mile race. Josh Martin was 45th followed by James Schuler in 64th and Chas Parker who was 67th.
Byron Bergen Invitational: Girls-1st Place, Boys-3rd Place
The girls where the defending 2008 champs and they once again took home the gold finishing first out of 16 teams. Ki Ki Dy lead the way finishing 2nd place overall at the meet with a time of 20:07. Kelly Bocknewetch cracked the top ten with an 8th place finish. Erin Hannah 11th, Sarah Ziemba finished 14th overall, Bethany Dewey 21st, Amy Lanighan 22nd, Kate Bocknewetch 23rd place and Ellen Kagles with a time of 27:19. Nice work girls.
The Varsity Boys also made the award podium finishing 3rd place overall. Cody Burns and Josh Martain lead the way finishing 7th and 8th place in the race. Nick Irr finished 17th, Chas Parker 20th, and James Schuler 33rd
place. Nick Kaszuba, and Evan Snyder rounded out the varsity squad.
The JV Boys joined the winning tradition with a 3rd placed finish at the meet. Ryan Lovewell was 5th in the JV race and earned a varsity spot for next meet. Gabe Schuler was 8th place, Conner Hastings was 9th, Tim
Schuler was 24th and Neil Luckman rounded out the JV team.
